I have rooted and updated my samsung galaxy s gt i 9000 to latest android kit kat 4.4 version.
Its working fine.

just root your phone then install custom rom like cyanogenmod.

What a phone !! gingerbread , ics , JB and now KK I mean ive used more then 15 roms on this phone and everytime i experience something new Yes I wont say it does not lag at all but for the price and make its hell of a smartphone still famous in many countries..all those custom roms !! I think Galaxy s needs to be revived in future with Cutting edge technology S5 kind of reminds me of SGSI9000...

I have bought Galaxy S I9000, this is worst mobile which I come across, very deadly slow mobile and everytime hanging, sometimes display goes but it sounds and many times I have faced problem even to make a call. When I am trying to make a call always it displays home page rather than dial pad....etc
Like this there are so many cases to adjudge that the mobile is worst than the all mobiles in the world

anyone who is using ice cream sandvich on this cell ?. i have upgraded to jelly bean 4.2.2 bt it drains out the battery so fast like hell. so any1 who can let me know which one is better ICS or JB ??? from battery point of view

AnonD-235589, 21 Feb 2014I cancelled the update unwillingly and now I cant see it ag... moreDid you flash a custom ROM? Because the i9000 can't be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) let alone 4.1.2. Mine is stuck on Gingerbread (2.3.6) forever without root.
