[deleted post]@jOn

I'm having a hard time understanding what it is you're trying to say, so I'll explain as best as I can.

When you are in range of your Home Wi-Fi network pull down the Notification pane and tap the Wi-Fi button. This will turn on Wi-Fi and connect to your home router for internet access on the phone. Are you with me so far?
Whilst Wi-Fi is enabled, the providers HSDPA will NOT be used.
However, if you still want to disable HSDPA then simply long press the power key and tap Data network mode to disable HSDPA. Tap it again to turn it back on if you need. Simple.

Are you right in the head? ALL WiFi enabled smart phones can do this, not just HTC.
If you're going to Troll at least come up with something intelligent.

I really can't recommend any apps because I'm not the sort of person who bothers with putting apps on my phone ( the SGS is pretty much wasted on me then ). So, to turn 3G off, press and hold the power key and tap " Data network mode ". That will disconnect your 3G network and will still allow SMS and calls.

        Hope that helps.

I have downloaded an free app that does it in 2 moves instead of the usual 4. It is called 'My Settings', and can be identified with a round blue icon with a white cog wheel on it. It also has shortcuts to other settings that I change regularly as well.

For instance: when the Wi-Fi is connected than the 3G network access can be turned off so I wont use the providers network rather then my home internet access. Any Suggestions?

fatos, 08 Jul 2011Hi..is it harmfull to clear the Ram on task menager..I thi... more If you have any open apps with unsaved data then clearing the RAM will also clear the unsaved data. For instance, you might have a draft email open in the background which you intend to finish at a later time, but clearing the RAM in this instance will delete the draft email as well. So make sure you save all data before clearing the RAM.

                      Cheers.

Khabbiba 'd Abba, 09 Jul 2011Hi! I have always been a Nokia user and this would have to ... more For backup software I can recommend Titanium backup. You will need to root your phone first to be able to use it. Just Google for " rooting Samsung Galaxy S " for answers on that.

Can't recommend any anti-virus software as I don't use any. I know I should seeing as Android is susceptible to attacks from malware but I just couldn't be bothered.

One app I can recommend is Appbrain, which will give you further recommendations for apps you may like.

                        Cheers.

Anonymous, 08 Jul 2011Its prefered to charge about 6 or 7 hours Actually, it is preferred to charge it until it is full. Once it is fully charged after about two and a half to three hours, the phone will automatically stop charging anyway, so there is no point in keeping it plugged in to the charger.

Hi! I have always been a Nokia user and this would have to be the first time that I've purchased a Samsung phone, thus, I'm fairly new to the Android OS. I really am enjoying my i9000, and I also want to learn what programs perform well with it such as Back Up program, Virus Scanner, etc. I hope you have great recommendations. :)

Would it also be great to upgrade to Gingerbread? :) Thank you!

I am using samsung windows mobile phone last 5 year, samsung as a brand and company I thing best in market,as a hardware maker they are rocks, battery life, screen very good but wifi performance not so good middle type, otherwise there devices always good.
There main problem is firmwire upgrading, very bad supporting, once they're release a device after few day's they forget about supporting, they have many software bug.they takes too many time to release there firmwire upgrade.
Before (omnia 2 GT-I8000) we heard we will get a firmwire upgrade 6.5.3 soon, but we didn't get firmwire upgrade 6.5.3, yet.Dear users please think about this, they release many devices ,after they forget about there support.
Only this firmwire upgrade problem they can loose many users, like me.
                                    Thanks.
