Is'nt it better to go with galaxy SL, which is much cheaper, the only difference being the lcd in place of samoled, lesser storage -4gb, different processor. please advise.

Before I flashed Android 2.2.1 to my Asian Galaxy S, the Network data connection (3G, HSPA, etc) were working fine. After flashing 2.2.1, it suddenly stopped functioning. When I checked, the APN settings were gone and so I had to get them from my operator/service provider.
What you can do is ask them to send you the APN settings (recommended) or you can manually input it in Settings - Wireless and Network - Mobile Networks - Access Point Name. This worked like a charm...

Adeel, 03 Mar 2011This phone has many problems... the screen timeout doesn't ... moreI dont have any of your mentioned problems i can easily access to pc...photos are so shiny and have no problems in viewing the files...with heavy usage battery lasts for 48 to 72 hours even gsm arena test confirms this. but yes it has no flash but a led flash cant do something good....overall this phone is great...froyo did well in handling phone ...sound is crisp camera is good and videos are great...

This phone has many problems... the screen timeout doesn't work.. and when you take pictures, when you view them in your gallery they are blurry compared to when you go to the camera application and see the photos. Skype doesn't work without the update. This phone CANNOT even connect to the computer, because Samsung Kies has so many problems. Compared to the iPhone 4 the camera isn't as good. There is no FLASH with the 5mp camera. I charge this phone everyday and if i use it excessively for half my day the battery drops to 55% or so. I wouldn't recommend getting this phone, but something newer. I wouldn't even take my chances with Galaxy SII even... Although I know its a powerful phone, the battery has a tough time supporting all the apps and features. All in all I am sorry to say but I am quite dissapointed with the Samsung Galaxy S.

i have this phone since his release date ... is the best (exception galaxy s II) android gingerbread for galaxy s is allready on samfirmware or xda but is a beta version ... need to wait a couple of days or weeks for the final version .. try using custom roms and kernels .. this wil make ur galaxy s blazing fast!!!

LEAKED Samsung 2.3.2 Gingerbread update now available on Samfirmware. the firmware is a beta version & some apps will not work. Official Gingerbread update is just around the corner. it will be a matter of days/weeks before Samsung finally release it.

I am using Galaxy 1900S. I do not have any android market option in the phone. There is one slide me Market. But there I don't find good softwares. I tried to install some softwares from android market website. but it said my account does not have the android phones.
Can any one plz tell me how can I install android market software in the mobile.
Can I use skype in galaxy 1900S?

[deleted post]just got this mobi off ma doris's bonifide found the android apps bout as exciting as a fart in the bath battery's useless and dont last much longer than me ex gorilla glass diplay aint worth a rub jumped out the bath 2 get da door when i come back me screen woz steamed up like some chin lickers glasses evryone told me this phone is good well ive found out wot the S stands for !giv it is due sits nicely on the dashboard of my brown ford orion ; )
