JS5 has a build date of January 2011. some people from XDA forums claims that JS5 is better than JPY or even JS3. I don't know if it's true, haven't flash the firmware yet into my phone.

If you want CWM then install "ROM manager" from the Market and chose to install cwm in rom manager and then boot into CWM, you will there have to install the update.zip and then it restarts and you have to install update.zip again then you have CWM installed. :)

I am failed to enter in download m... moreyour sure you did it correctly & your in debug mode? if yes. sadly, your phone belongs to the batch that has a disabled 3 button combo (can't go back to Recovery or Download mode) jus like my phone. luckily, the guy of XDA Dev. Forums has a solution to enable your 3 button combo. just go to this website:

Darky`s and Doc´s roms are good, but they both have problems, bugs, and both have problems with Andriod Market, so I recommend using stock 2.2.1 installing using Odin after registering for free at Samfirmware.com and start by installing "NEW I9000XWJS5 Version 2.2.1 (3 files)" using pit 512, and then root using CF-Root-XX_XEU_JPY-v1.3-BusyBox-1.17.1.zip from this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108&highlight=jp6+root
The developers at xda are good, but they are mostly amateurs and some only teens, and even though they do everything for free they still really want donations and some try to actually live on these donations alone and they release new versions simply to keep theit own rom in focus so that they can get more donations even though they have not really done any real significant improvements since their last release, but mostly only changed the look of stock roms. Their "messing" with the code is most likely to cause as many new bugs as the small improvements they try to give over the stock roms.

No "hangs" at all and batterylife is just as good as on any other device, including IPhone4.

Android is too much laggy.and became more after 2.2 update.
Device hangs so many times.battery life is very less in moderate uses.I will rather go for iphone4 .samsung need to improve ui rather give as it is android's orignal ui.

Please some one help me. I am failed to enter in download mode. I did 100 times procedure but it on in normal mode. I am pressing and holding volume down key + home key and then pressing power button. Is there any other procedure to go in the download mode. Ur help will be highly appreciated.

NewToGalaxyS, 08 Feb 2011I already flashed 2.2.1 xxjpy from Samfirmware. also, I wan... moreIf you have problems with the update.zip I recommend you to install the voodoo sound and lagfix using Odin, because it installs the latest cwm automatically, and you can then easily remove the lagfix from cwm if you do not want it.
