i have had this phone for some time now and i honestly believe its the best phone on the market at the moment, the specs are fantastic and its a attractive phone. the only hang up i have is that i have heard you can update the 2.1 eclair to the 2.2 froyo by downloading and installing the samsung kies software i have downloaded it however it wont allow me to update it as its informing me there isn't an updater available can anyone please tell me what i have done or where i have gone wrong and if there is any other way of updating it?????????????

Anonymous, 12 Jan 2011download z4root from the market and install. ok so if we root, is it true that we can factory reset and there will be no trace of us rooting the device and everything restored back to original so that our warranty still remains????

Can anyone Explain.
I have got SGS i9000, with 2.2 froyo on it. I updated it to froyo last month ( officially through kies). Earlier with 2.1 eclair my phone showed 326mb ram remaining , and after upgrade to 2.2 froyo the phone showed 304mb ram remaining in task manager.
Now the question here is
Yesterday I had galaxy tab in my hands , with froyo 2.2 in it. And I Went to the taskmanager and checked the available ram on it. Now that showed 444mb available for use out of 512mb which it has.
Now why both the devices havin same software show different availability of ram
Because when I use my SGS heavily with multitasking and browsing some heavy websites, the app crashes because only 304mb is left for use.
I guess something is wrong with samsung's software implementation on their products.

lost girl, 12 Jan 2011can any one tell me what swype is on the i9000 in detail pl... moreswype is the typing method which you don't have to pull your finger of the screen. Just one click, then drag to form the word you want. Ex: Wonderful. I will tap on the W key and then move (without taking the finger off the screen) to O,N,D,E,R,F,U and L, instead of tapping W and tap O and N and D....bla blah

I have this awesome phone, but it sometimes freezes or just shuts down it self. When i try to switch it, it does not will have to remove the battery to boot it on. Does any one experience the same problem and how can i fix it?. Also some contents in my address book just disappear

Best Handset I Ever seen....Quality video Capturing 1280x720 @13Mbps. 720p any video format can handle easyly. But it not include Flasher....its a only one mistake.
