Praveen, 14 Dec 2010Stop buying Galaxy s an dgo for Nexus S.Nexus S is not all that great, except that it has gingerbread and NFC. It still has a older version of Bluetooth v2.1 while galaxy has V3.0. Also Nexus S does not have a TV out and no memory card slot. Galaxy will be getting gingerbread soon in the first quarter of 2011, then why go for Nexus S when Galaxy S has everything!

I mast say that it is a huge letdown using this phone. the first one i got was defective and no one could hear me. it seems like Samsung test everything except the primary function.... I had it replaced but the problems with the blue tooth did not go away. I can not get the phone to connect to my PC via blue tooth. nor can the 4 other people that i know that has one. What i find the most irritating is the fact that it hangs/freezes. seemingly randomly. a week ago i received a call and no matter what i did i could not answer the call. it rang and rang and i was swiping away at the screen but it just ignored me. i had several issues like this where the phone just stop responding. yesterday i had it on charged over night and when i got to it, it was dead. i had to remove the battery to reset it. I can go on and on about it. The drop down tab tends to hide away and no matter how much you pull down on the screen nothing happens. I tried to upgrade the firmware but the kies software just can't seem to connect to the server. it can update it self but not the firmware. The GPS is really random. it jumps around and some times just don't find where i am. Google Maps Sat nave does not work so don't think you can use it for driving. Well not in my country. to say that I am really unimpressed is an understatement

I have the Froyo 2.2 on the SGS. My phone shows that I am using 208/304. Is 304 the maximum RAM that I can get already? How do I maximize the 512mb of RAM?

Hi everyone, upgraded myself to this sleek Samsung Galaxy S i9000, after lots of research, it was a tough decision as all the similar latest models had almost similar features, the fast speed 1GB hummingbird processor, good battery life, excellent GPS features & really amazingly clear screen made me decide to select this model over others. Since almost over five weeks of usage no call drops, no phone hangs or freezes, no sync problems, has given me true satisfaction of my wise decision to pick this phone. Wi-Fi & blue tooth usage has much less battery drain compared to its competitors (no names please). Video calling is charm on this phone ‘cos of 1GB processor. Radio usage reception is excellent almost always. With 32GB memory, watched AVATAR in HD on my i9000 and at end of it I used 50% battery – not bad eh! Amazing masterpiece created by Samsung Galaxy S team. Overall performance is excellent for my usage. My advice buy the model which suits your usage habits, this model for sure is way ahead of others per my personal research, usage & satisfaction.

but please keep in mind that i was comparing galaxy s with desire hd. and, from this point of view, beside the screen (where i give galaxy a 10 and desire hd a 9), for all the rest of the features the 2 phones are equal at least (in some places desire even in front of galaxy, even if only by little). at least this is my personal feeling. and one more example: i have installed and uninstalled(on both phones) at least one hundred apps. after doing that, galaxy needed a reset, as it had become sluggish (it is not the case yet with desire). it seems that htc managed to do a better integration of android. and i can tell you that i was not a big htc fan (actually more an anti-fan, but they have managed to gain be with this phone). what is the best in all this is the fact that i can see more and more top android phones :)

Now, there's 2.2.1 update which is better than 2.2.

thats bec the sd card is full and the pc takes too much time reading the content....so just unmount your sd card before connecting to kies...goodluck
