Froyo update is now available for India. Make sure you are using the latest KIES version to get it.

... morehey guys don be angry on samsung its already released the best froyo before a 2 month but its samsung india r too lazy doing this am using other contry verions its running very smooth as anything 100% smooth made by xda devs so u must be asking this to samsung india not to samsung....
if u go to sony then its even worst just now release 2.1 and now we already in 2.1 remember that... htc has no more front facing cam call r 3g that cause huge problem droping connection with poor battery back up once u use those phones u know wat even 2.2 is up u wont find much diff cony custom roms can give long battery backup and 100% smoothness....
nokia is no were in competition.....

stupid samsung sucks,
till date no froyo update in india.
it initally(sgs release time) promised froyo update in aug 2010
now its december almost.
samsung shows intrest only in making money and never cares for customer satisfaction.
gsm arena plz dont delete this!

Hi,
I am using this phone for past 1 week. Its quite a good phone. Movies, songs, games, applications are nice.
Android market gives strength to your phone.but some apps oops :(
I'm from india. Waiting for 2.2 version. I think samsung fixing all the bugs before releasing to india.
If you want to upgrade just google it.. you can get link that using kies you can upgrade to UK version.
guys, understand product development is not that easy, they will release good stable version for india soon.
will write another review after getting 2.2 ..
till then bye :) enjoy ur life with Galaxy S

kamboj..punjab...ind, 28 Nov 2010u need to have froyo 2.2 on galaxy s to run skype...Don't know My phone got Skype on 2.1 Android.I did something a bit cheeky, while My wife was playing with an iphone in the carrier that I'm withs store, I took a picture of the Skype app in the files folder of their branded i9000. When I got home I googled it, and it was a well known file,My searches took Me to XDA site.The file I downloaded ends in 14,I was still on 2.1 but I noticed that some of the people on there had the leaked Froyo rom on thier devices, and there was a problem with Skype on 2.2.A "Poster" on that site has something to do with 3uk, and He said at that time there was a problem with thier Skype app and 2.2, that they were working to fix, and sure enough a few weeks later another post from that guy and now a new file is there ending in 15.Though as is clear from My second earlier post I haven't had to try the file which ends in 15 because,I put the previous file on my clean an unbranded phone on 2.1, and it still continues to work perfectly after I updated to Froyo,by the way that is not after a reinstall,it stayed on the phone.A look at that site might help some, and make the trail of Skype events a little clearer if My posts havn't,you can see I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I hope this helps someone

anariajnabi, 28 Nov 2010how do you start skype on i9000 ????????As I posted earlier on,go onto XDA developers website,search through the Skype posts and you will find the links to the app, it works, it installs simply and when it has it leaves its icon as usual in your apps,hold the icon(Long hold)drag it to your default home screen and then press it.It asks you to log in or creat a profile,then away you go.I know a lot of people seem to have had problems,but I guess as long as you weren't unlucky enough to get a faulty phone or perhaps if rooting messes it up in some way,its simple,find it download it install it and use it.If I can be of any more help please ask.

samsung if you are not going provide updates in INDIA many are going to switch to nokia again.
Nokia is once more rising with the coming touch phones.

They have many others business to take care..
I also fool by their marketing.. if I can't update froyo at the end of the year I will sell this phone off. Regardless how much
I lost..
