Pretty good phone. I have only a few negative points: 1. The official back cover is very slippery. 2. Forget using the official firmware and get a better one from http://cyanogenmod.org - you would be surprised about how big a difference replacing the Samsung's crap with real software can make. 3. It should have more RAM - especially later incarnations of Google Chrome like to eat all the RAM on this device and as a result, background applications suffer. 4. The power button is on the side of the device and will be accidentally pressed as a result.

I had an iPhone prior to the galaxy s. Not much difference and speed is also similar. Plenty of apps but not scrutinized as good as the iphone. I have the Walmart cell service (straight Talk) and costs $45 / month for unlimited everything. Can't beat it -very satisfied.

Reason why ? Main reason is Xperia Arc or Arc S comes with a limited Internal Storage which is too less.
You will end up running out of space after installing 10-15 apps.
It lag a lot unlike Samsung Galaxy S i9000 which works like a charm on Jelly Bean 4.2.1.

i have installed cyanogenmod 10 (jellybean 4.1.2) after gingerbread 2.3.4 and it works like...butter, you dont have touchwiz anymore but it works great

My experience of 2 years with the I9000 got me finally to stick with CM 7.2. I have tried CM 9, CM 10, CM 10.1, but the hardware is not quite as powerful as needed for the later ones.

You can upgrade it by using CM10 (thats mod-the only way to get 4.1.2.
