Hey guyz! I was to get a samsung galaxy s from canada.The phone is unlocked.I will be using here in india.Right now I am using Idea connection.My query is ,will this phone function properly in india?As I have heard that because of some frequency miss match(frequency at which service is provided in india and frequency in the native country for which this cell is made) there is possibility that it may not function quit smoothly here.Please give your expert comment on this.

does anyone feel that our galaxy s will sometimes become very hot? if someone got same exp. please reply me why like that and how to fix it? and the lag problem how i can fix it? someone help?

My Galaxy is much faster after updating to Froyo however, after updating to Froyo I also rooted the phone with Z4root and installed lagfix..
It benchmarked faster than any phone on the market right now.
I am a Samsung fan but have found out that using develop's ROM after purchasing is the best way to get the most out of your Samsung.
unfortunately many people are afraid or don't know where to find the right files or how to do it.
I will stay with Samsung . great phones.
I also have the i8510 INNOV8 which is proably the BEST phone they ever built. This one the SGS is a close second.

samsung is more concerned about updating KIES rather than FROYO.
and guys don't be foolish the froyo has been updated using older versions of KIES so there is no reason for the kies being updated is to get froyo.

last night i also got an update for kies software....but after updating i didnt found any froyo update....i guess we will shortly get the update in a day or more....

I try update firmware and it shows can't update ths version..........did they launch froyo in India??Pls chk some1............it used to show the latest firmware is being used............but now it shows this version can't be updated pls help me

if anyone like features phone, then Galaxy S is better than iPhone4.
iPhone4 graphic processor is separated out from the CPU, instead of Galaxy S where graphic processor is embedded in the CPU, with this, Galaxy S will lag more frequent compare to iPhone4.
just up-graded to Froyo 2.2, a bit dissapointed on the performance and not like what it published in Android web site or youtube. Certain application speed down graded, and lag more than previous. Wait for so long till Samsung released 2.2 on 19-Nov-10 in Malaysia, but dissapointed me and regret me to up-graded to 2.2. Wish that Samsung and review again the 2.2 that released.

Some people say this phone is flimsy. It IS not ...the plastic back is specially made and it is flexible. the phone itself is much lighter and thinner than an iphone.
The Gorilla glass is amazingly strong and doesn't scratch.
If your glass breaks on an iphone (happens a lot) you don't have a phone for a couple of weeks.
This phone is the best one Samsung ever built next to the i8510 INNOV8

It does lag somtimes not often.......it doesnt hang i havnt felt it hanged...............nor did it freeze..............it lags when we r multitaskin with lots of applications thats all or when a lot of them arent closed...........
