I did as you instructed. It's so easy. I really did not know what to do I even left at a mobile shop but he could not fix it.

follow the manual method in this link....
dont get panic just do
after rooting ur device just back up efs folder which is the back up of product code
to do this u have to download root explorer u will find this app in symbiantalk.net forum
open the root explorer u will ask to allow super user for first time accept that then u will c the efs folder just copy as a back up in memory card and hav a copy to ur pc as well
now u r ready to flash

first press the power botton for 15 sec till it restarts
if it does'nt works then u must try only recovery mode it will delete all apps
this will wipe all ur data now press up volume button+ home button+ power button now u will c a recovery screen
u will hav 3 options
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. reboot
select 1st one wipe data/ factory reset and reboot
thats it....

The Galaxy S is great. But Android is too complicated and battery hungry for me. I'm not a big apps person.
Would the Samsung Wave 8500 with Bada be as good for me ?

I bought this phone on eBay. It was locked but I unlocked it however I don't know how to draw the PATTERN since it was not mine. So I can't get access to the menu because I need to know the pattern.
Please advise what to do mates.
