MY QUESTION STILL REMAINS: can this Phone work with AT&T 3G Network?

                Hello,
thank you for your answer, although i was aware of the existance of few Android Phones by AT&T but they are limited in their capabilities... for instance you can only get apps from the Androind market and not from other sources, and truly the reason why i like Android is because you can access an infinite number of applications even made by unknown people.. i would like to have the possibility of deciding weather to try them or not... so this is why i am looking into getting a NON AT&T Phone, unless they decide to unlock the Android and leave access to all it's functions, including Shell.

So at the end, i still don't know if this Samsung i9000 works with AT&T 3G...

                      Dear Sirs,

I have heard about the Samsung's galaxy 9000 model and I was tempted to buy...except when I have just read from Verizon Wireless in the US-internal document which leaked regarding the “Known Issues” of this model.

It is also said that some of the issues as below will be fixed in the MR 1 release of this device, while some are still being reviewed. WHAT IS THAT? and
DO THE ISSUES BELOW STILL APPLY?

                      The ISSUES
                      # Bluetooth Issue: When on a call via the phone’s bluetooth and the backlight times out, you will have to first unlock the phone in order to end the call. Also there are issues with car kit connect and car kit contact sync.

                      # Calendar Issue: No way to change the Calendar alert notification.

                      # Blank Screen Issue: Answer the second call when already on a call, and the caller ID screen goes blank.

                      # Backlight Issue: Irrespective of screen timeout settings, backlight on the bottom 4 buttons – menu, home, back, and search, times off after just 5 seconds.

                      # Email Delete Status Issue: Doesn’t show any status bar when deleting e-mails/messages, so you never know if it’s still going on or has completed.

                      # Sync Issue: exchange e-mail and yahoo mail stop syncing at times, screen goes dark while syncing and the device displays “unable to open connection to server.”

                      # Exchange Email Issue: No password option in the Location & Security settings menu, therefore you can’t change the password once Exchange security policy is applied. Also there are Exchange ActiveSync security lock screen invoking and display issues.

                      # Feeds/Widget Issue: In some cases feeds and widgets get struck and don’t update. User will have to manually request update.

                      # Wi-Fi Issue: You cannot receive OTA updates with when in Wi-Fi mode.

                      # GPS Latency Issue: Takes longer then other devices to get GPS location information when using Google and Bing maps.

                      # Hotspot Issue: connected devices via 3G hotspot aren’t listed, white bar above the touch-keyboard blocks “Save” and “Cancel”, you’ll have to use “Return” soft key instead.

                      # Messaging Issue: Sending message fails when you do so after receiving VVM notification, no option for message delivery acknowledgement, no option to resend message, and you cannot send V-Cards via messages.

                      # PDF Issue: PDFs in emails should first be saved in order to be opened.

                      # Call Issue: If you press the “Search” button when on a call, the call may get disconnected.

                      # VZ Navigator Issue: Cannot run the VZnavigator application when in Wi-Fi mode.

Your immediate reply would mostly be appreciated

                      Sincerely,
                      Constantinos Iacovou

Malik, 12 Sep 2010Very true apple does have samsung and LG components in them... moreDon't try sounding so smart malik with your misleading facts that you have pulled straight out of your ass. LOL. Samsung dominates the market in the chip/components department which means that their products are more reliable than intel and amd's which is why apple has chosen samsung. Apple is not a company who would chose cheaper products over better performing parts. Intel and AMD does not have the mobile chip technology either fool. BTW galaxy s's lag has long been fixed by the automatic task manager which is downloadable in the samsung market so do a little research before you post unreliable bull. thanks :)

S.Sri, 12 Sep 2010Another point I wish to amplify here is that Samsung's afte... moreVery true apple does have samsung and LG components in them. But many american phones have foreign made components in them because it is cheaper to get it from korea / japan than to make it or buy it from other american producers such as Intel or AMD. if they did, the price of the iPhone would be even more but it should perform better. Part of the reason for the galaxy's lag is the processor which is why apple had samsung build the processor but gave the specifications themselves hence the name "apple a4 chip" which i think is also patented. Samsung has made another version of apples processor calling it the A8 processor, which is built the way apple wanted them to build the A4, you can see the performance increase by the smoothness of the galaxy pad, it's almost as smooth as iPad from the videos i see.

what do you think about the retina display? You seem to talk about facts in an educated fashion rather than fanboy opinions so i'd like your honest opinion here.

                          Thanks

Hi all SGS fans, i just bought this monster yesterday n i'm really impressed. But it has some issues with GPS and sometime it drained battery pretty fast. One of my friend said those problems will be fixed when it gets Froyo 2.2. So when this update available and how can i receive it? I live in Vietnam.
                                Thanks in advance :)

dis fone is d most overpriced POS ever, no flash support for the web and not even a flash for the camera? And this cost same as N900 and Milestone? gimme a break, its a samsung with out both flash and flash. Laughable... No, pathetic i ment.

good display and ui and d rest is lacking at best. And bet samsung wil not push out software updates, once again they will fail to follow up on their own products.
