After a month use i am satisfied with Galaxy S. The screen is good and battery life is also good. With heavy usage it lasts for 1 day and with normal use it lasts for 2 days. No 3g will take it to 3 days stand. Maps eats battery life like anything. Bundled headphone is not so great i have moved to a Sony Xtra Bass headphone.Sometimes the response lags. Camera is great in bright light. It is better in night with some external lightings. I am happy with the touch. Installed lots of app. Talking tom attracts everyone from all age group. I have updated the Android 2.1 to the latest firmware through kies. For me Kies didnt gave any problem. Initially it gave some pblm in detecing device. I restarted my phone then kies is able to detect. Now no restart needed and no pblm while connecting to Kies. I looked for downloading some nice HD video clip. But couldnt find a perfect full screen video. If anyone has pls share some links.

Yeah, all the people who use smart phobes mostly for entertainment nay get well with this model.
Email flaws:
1. create POP account, get all the emails downloaded from web server. See what happened next: try to select all emails - cant,
try to set setting "Check email frequency" - Never. Do you think it works? Nop. Every time you go to email box all the mail will be automaticaly loaded in, you cant even stop it. In my case i do get spams very often and I did not want to get the crap coming inot my phone that whty i set Never. Anyway it was the test account I linked to.
Try to delete account -cant. For me in order to clean my private data (emails and seetings) I had to resort to factory reset. I did not want to select emails one by one (120 emails) a no option to select all. i already mentioned about privacy issue associated with google email account you must have for some functions to work on the phone. Google will get permission to sync with the phone and you will never know about it. In the end it is Google/Samsung phone.
2. Kies = Lies, doesnt boot (even latest version), fail the XP, crashed when searched folders in microsd card. Paying premium for R&D prototype - sorry cant afford.
3. Still after week of waiting I did not get a single message from their support on the issues listed, I was very positive back then with a lot of hope. Syamsunis are hiding heads in the sand by not helping and still trying to get crap to many naive buyers.
I wont make any other comments on that SGS with nice look but no guts. You can compare it to other phones and say it is better, consider value for money then and the fact that you are on the hook with google.

slow slow nexus one and htc desire only 26.5 fps compared to the 55.7fps on the galaxy. The galaxy s wins again.

Galaxy S is more expensive than Desire so costumers should not have to expect all the problems with Galaxy S and the phone should atleast live up to its specs with stereo FM-radio and a functional gps and the pc-software that Galaxy S i designed for should in turn be designed for Galaxy S. Ok, most of the problems will hopefully be fixed with Froyo, but Samsung should not have started selling this phone before they had fixed all its technical and software problems. The big problem with Galaxy S is NOT the missing flash, I changed to Desire because of all the other problems with Galaxy S.
Desire has no problems and fullfills all its specs fully, and it has none of all the "lags" that Galaxy S has and that only can be fixed by the costomer by installing "lagfix", a expensive phone like Galaxy S with all its impressive hardware specs should not have this much lag.

The problem here is someone has an issue they can't be bothered to sort out so they come on here and say don't buy the galaxy email don't work or it lags or the battery is bad or other problems that can be fixed the only thing that can't be sorted yet is the kies software.

[deleted post]kies is samsung's program where you can manage your phone better, it is like itunes but you are not totally dependent on kies because you can still transfer files to your micro sd card even without kies, just set usb as mass storage. in kies, you can manage your music, photos, videos, messages, contacts, etc...

s ui is great in htc i admit that bec i hav used hd2 for 6 months its great but galaxy is great other than ui for sure....

Hi all.I am typing this with my new galaxy s and I would like to share my experience. First of all the screen is great, it's better than any screen I have ever seen.the colors are better than natural colors and sunlight legibility is very good.its just amazing.the UI is great and efficient.it may not be as good as htc's UI but it's pretty good.the battery is amazing; I took 60 pictures, used google earth and maps with gps for two hours,took a 20 min hd video, 40 min of avi movie playback, 20 min of internet surfing, 2 hours of general use and 20 min of phone calls, and the batery got empty after 12 hours.all this was done with brighness set to 70%.
Only got one problem: the kies software couldn't connect to my device it just says connecting the device, please wait.help please.

there r so many fake videos in youtube with adjusting brighness to their standards so dont bring ur fake videos here its useless to explain all those and all knows samsung display is great has less glare and can save battery with more brightness and contrast.....
lcd cant give great battery life and good contrast to phone and it cant match up with sunlight liability.....

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2010when watching movie galaxy si better but when viewing any t... moreThe screen resolution on Galaxy S is actually smaller, its possible to see individual pixels especially when reading text, than 800x480 because some of the colour-pixels are a lot larger than others so the "real" resolution is not even 800x480, and that is a problem on a this big screen. Desire Super-LCD is 800x480 and is a lot better than Super(/fake)-Amoled.

Email is sucks .. it is a real waste of money if you want to use emails on this. Especially your business e mails. Push mail does not work & you have to reload the settings every 3rd day for it to work for for half day.
