Get an app like Advanced Task killer and try shutting down the apps you don't need. This has shown improvements for some users. I use it when I reboot the phone.

If you are scared to update to froyo you should have got a iphone...and I did not require registry tweak...

Samsung Galaxy S Forum does confirm that the release is yet to be made and the version now available is beta..............
FROYO is for all(amateurs,intermediates,professionals,new users.....) without any tweaks..............
JUST USE COMMON SENSE U WILL UNDERSTAND..........

For ME I HAD TO CHANGE THE REGISTRY BUT DIDNT UPDATE JUST TRIED WHETHER TWEAK WORKS AND IT DOES WORK BUT I DONT WANT TO BRING TROUBLE MYSELF

Hi everyone, im not sure if anyone has seen this over at XDA but they are calling it an official froyo release. It looks final but its not really "official".
I did not fid this i am merely spreading the word
UPDATE Users are suggesting that if your in the UK you don't have to edit the registry you only have to put Kies in test mode ! , as this was not known before i cannot confirm but, it would be very helpful if other UK Galaxy s owners could confirm.
Warning: If you have a SIM locked Galaxy S, this ROM will ask you for an unlock code even if you're using the SIM from the same network, so be sure to get that code before updating!
Also Kies will need updated to the latest version.
Just a warning before we start, this involves changing the registry on your computer so im not responsible if you accidently changed stuff you shouldnt, same goes with flashing you galaxy s
So as mentioned above this does require some REG editing..
1. Start > Run > REGEDIT
2. Locate "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\1" Note yours may not be stored in the 1 folder, its different for many people.
3. When you get to DeviceDB search through the different folders until you see
"SoftwareRevision"
"ProductCode"
"HIDSWVER"
"DEVCONINFO"
4. Next open up kies and connect you GS to the computer, wait for Kies to recognize phone then change the above values to
CODE
"SoftwareRevision"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"
"ProductCode"="GT-I9000HKDXEU"
"HIDSWVER"=""
"DEVCONINFO"=""
5. Then click On update firmware icon...
update.png ( 60.7K ) Number of downloads: 105
6. Then once loaded press CTRL+ALT+U+P
And it should say Test mode on...
test_mode.png ( 45.04K ) Number of downloads: 79
7. Then If you have done all of the above correctly it should say that you have a new update I90000XXJPC
8. Finally once it has upgraded after it has rebooted you may get a black screen and it vibrates a few times.. this is normal and when this happens hold Volume up + Home + Power button to boot in recovery mode, then Wipe data/ Factory reset.
9. Then when booted you should have some Lovely froyo on your Samsung galaxy s

the galaxy s is ana amzing phone. it covers everything i want it too. Its out does the iphone 4 by miles. This is the best thing that samsung could have done, like the iphone 4 but 20x better

Hello people, can anyone pin point what am doin wrong with my samsung!!! got it last week and all i've installed is 3apps facebook a game and news app. but for some reason the phone has gone a wee bit slow! eg when you click on the dialler it takes about 3secs before you can dial a number. normally it's instant!

Anup, 01 Sep 2010froyo not officialy released..................Froyo is not beta I updated thru kies.no registry tweak used.if it was beta it would say on software description..its the real deal put your phone back to earlier firmware maybe kies not work with some off the cooked roms

Samsung Galaxy is Great !!! Iphone 4 is just a mind manipulate phone, because you pay the most for the Apple Logo, I think samsung Produce 2 much phones, so the Galaxy Goes Low in Price after 4Months, Apple keep there prices High' So for your own feeling the phone feels expensive!!! and that's why everybody loves Apple.

Update, 01 Sep 2010Is it official announcement of Froyo from Samsung?No it isnt..its the beta test one coz u need to tweak ur kies to dwnld it...had it been an official one, u wudnt have had to worry abt tweaking anything...dnt mess up ur S unless u knw how to tweak..just wait for the official froyo update..its just round the corner!!
