geeta, 13 Aug 2010It is attractive looking, but what about flash missing ? ho... moreit works good in low light mode but certainly flash missing wont make u feel much.. bec it has 1280×720 size screen recording and playback which u dont find in all phones

HI there,
Can someone tell me how to use or activate (or something like that) 3G of Samsung Galaxy S i9000. I am using sim card in Germany, O2, but there is no 3G sign on the phone. It should be show 3G symbol next to the signal symbol, right?
Can someone tell me what i should do now?

How do i deactivate and EDGE network in dis samsung i9000 galaxy s.......pls let me know as cz of dis network working by itself...,the money is getting detucted by itself without using it only!!!!...plss plss if any1 knows how 2 deactivate edge network in this specific phone....pls let me know!!!??

r it can kill the running process every 30 min...
and run the task manager widget frm samsung widget that will help u to show the application running background..
wait for the froyo update it has the auto task killer of its own will kills task when eats memory

Darshan, 13 Aug 2010When i opned the box, i was little dissapointed!!! The ear... mores if u buy apple r htc it will be same headphone with no music control but samsung atleast given na nice earbuds similar to sony walkman...happy with that

first go to settings> account and sync > disable the backgroung and data checkbox and disable auto sync as well
next go to settings > wireless and network > mobile network > access point names> select the access point and go to option(left soft key) delete apn
thats it...

When i opned the box, i was little dissapointed!!!
The ear phones provided dont have track controls, only play/pause, take/reject button...
Paying 28k and they these samsung r so cheap in providing good features...Dissapointed have to buy one now....

Hi I am new to this phone. I really need help here.
I was using this phone for a day.My ram showed between 87-96MB because of some softwares that were running in the background(which I hadnt used).Softwares like voice dialling,task manager,maps,music player,video player. I force kill it with taskiller and then ram goes to 120MB.
I just restartd the phone and it showed 160MB with most of these in the background?
What should I do? How can I stop these services running without my knowledge?
Somebody who expertise in SGS pls tell me solutions?

I have a Galaxy S and the GPS is completely useless it shows that my position, in maps, is 500 kilometers from where I really am. I can not connect my phone to my PC. Samsungs accuweather/clock-widget shows incorrect time. I hope all problems will be fixed with the Froyo-update, but I do not know how I will be able to update the phone, will it happen automaticly in the background because I have not found any "search for updates"- button.
I am considering buying HTC Desire instead.

[deleted post]You should also consider the idea that maybe the SGS unit that GSM Arena reviewed is a good unit. And maybe the ones you got are the unfortunate rare buggy ones. It may be the case and I believe you can return it to whoever you bought/got it from within certain number of days. Its probably just a factory defective unit that you got. Have it replaced.
You can post ur personal review, but to actually blame other people for your own decision is just uncalled for. What you shd have done is checked atleast 5-10 reviews from different reliable sources before u buy something this expensive. Thats what I'm doing right now before I buy this baby. Its like getting 2nd, 3rd, 4th opinion from different doctors because we must admit there are factors that affects reviews (personal tastes and preferences, good reception in the area, good unit that ur using as opposed to defective ones, proper handling, good knowledge in using the unit, etc.) After considering the reviews, then u add up ur own prefences and what you prioritize (like me for example radios are deal breakers for me but I dont care much for the flash while for other people, they dont even use the radios, and cam flash is big deal for them). So far, most owners of SGS are complaining about the heated battery and GPS.So im trying to check opinions on that one. Otherwise i'm almost set to buying SGS. Most people loved it. So I'm just praying to get a good unit like most people. Try returning yours, hope you got ur unit fixed, replaced or something. Good luck.

GPS doesn't work. All over the web you can find people posting a propsed fix/workaround. Except that it didn't work for me, and many others. Bottom line- GPS on this phone is dodgey at best and flat out ships broken at worst.
Great phone- screen, speed, etc.
GPS Broken- FAIL
