Hi there Galaxy owners!
Ive been using the phone and Im very Happy with it. Its a really cool phone, BUT..
Ive installed the Advanced task Killer and noticed that some Apps keep running withou my activation. So i kill them, and some time later, some of them or others appears running, like MSN Talk, Gallery, among others.
Is this normal?

Got this phone 2 days ago, so far so good. Battery lasts for mostly a day or two. Great Super AMOLED, way better than my laptop LCD... Think Free office is very handy, This is the best smart phone yet, not even Apple can beat it because of Apple's telephony issues. There's just one issue about Android's SMS, you can't add more than 10 recipients, but Handcent App from Android Market do solved the problem, great syncing, kudos for Handcent App makers. Android folks should put some attention to this. But all in all, it's a good phone, we'll just see in time if it's good enough... ciao! :D

bought my galaxy s two days back & i noticed that the back cover logo is different its not with the word GOGGLE but with the android icon....but i bought it in a samsung retail store, dunno why the difference?

Ok after having this phone for about one week now and my first real problem with the handset has cropped. It seems there is an issue with the software regarding the battery meter.
On two occassions now i have charged the battery until it say "unplug the charger. Battery full". I then used the phone for about ten mins of calls. An hour of web browsing and about 2 to 3 hours of music and the battery still said 100%. Only when i powered the phone down then on again it refreshed the battery metre. Anyone else has this problem?

arshad, 09 Aug 2010hey everybody out there, i am confused which one to buy gal... morethis is a hard choice. the desire may be better on audio but signal wise maybe galaxy. for build quality case etc the desire. but screen is not scratch resistant. galaxy has the look and feel of an iphone. the touch wiz interface is an improvement over the android basic version, but you can't get rid of it. galaxy great video recording out of the box too. trouble is the galaxy feels like it should have come from toys r us, plastic plastic and er plastic great shame samsung as it's a great phone!

blair, 09 Aug 2010great phone... just bought it. but i have one major issue w... morego to the mp3 player, search or select a song u like, click the options key and select use as ringtone. I think this is a better way yo do t anyway. I have 7000 songs so scrolling down a ringtone menue is not really easy

great phone... just bought it. but i have one major issue with it - when i want to choose the ringtone for all the incoming calls, they show me a list with the predefined ringtones of samsung, not with my ringtones as well...

I wonder if he works at the develo... moregreat phone but battery drains very fast need some fix soon when browsing in net battery drains so so fast in 1hr and battery becomes so heat as well ...
i put the phone to 2g mode which saves the battery, put the phone to low brightness and using only black wallpapers and every time i use to kill the application even the task manager dont.... but still battery drains any fix?....
and one more thing there is no option for turning of data connection too

Thanks so much for the quick reply, but i also wanted to know what happens if i refuse to pay the remaining amount? Will they deactivate the phone by stopping it from getting any reception?

Dude i dont live in the states, i live in kenya, africa and over here we use sim cards and our phones are not sim locked. Thats why im new to this contract thing and im going to university in the states in the next 30 days so im trying so learn about these contracts. I went onto at&ts website but there are too many irrelevant facts and terms so i thoguht it would be easier and quick to the point if i asked soone here. Sorry if you got pissed at my post!

Anonymous, 07 Aug 2010Wooww u should actually chase the job as "TESTER"... morewill be glad to take up the offer of tester. first impressions of manufacturing quality are important. i have a samsung 3050 using it now it costs peanuts here. yet let's see build quality great has aluminium shell. better music player to a degree even with supplied earphones. galaxy s cannot even put in box alternate size ear buds! finish is everything in a product especially durability and on that front galaxy s is suspect. i have had several androids to hand and have to say bar the screen what is outstanding? maybe an htc desire of better construction would suit most better. ok no super amoled but even with 2.1 has flash browser support. no need to wait lol. the 720p that this phone boasts and is a selling point now available no generic desires too. sorry i think this phone needs a better case, period!

Don't play clever when you are not. Down load task manager app to control the RAM, so the phone will not lag and the power safe mode app to control the battery.

Can someone please explain to me what it means if i get this phone for $49.99 on a 2 year contract with at&t. Im new to these contract things so i dont know what it means. All i know is that i hav to pay $49.99 every month for 2 years right? But what happens if i stop paying after lets say 3 months? Can i still keep the phone or will at&t take the phone away? Also can i start a new contract with at&t with another phone after i stop paying for this contract? Someone please reply urgently! Thanks in advance
