can't believe this is even considered better than a iphone, hell even the iphone 3G pawns this, a phone is used for calling and texting and looking good, divx movies on such a small screen is absurd that's what home theatres are for, grow up geeks, iphone may be expensive but it's the style and smooth feel that makes it the winner, no phone will ever feel as smooth as the iphone

I have had Galaxy S for a week now and must tell you honestly that its an amazing phone. One strange thing i observed was that out of 4 charge cycles i carried out , in two of cycles the phone lasted 1 day but in other 2 cycles it lasted for nearly 2 days. My usage remains same.GPS off, sync when reqd, online on Gtalk 24x7, weather widget on, brightness minimum, and nearly 22 calls incoming and outgoing, little internet on Edge network. Can somebody tell wat was the difference?

brynn, 08 Aug 2010That huge blob is the loudspeaker grill.. Got it today a... moreSadly, not. The blob was on bottom right-hand corner of back cover, inside too. The cover did not fit due to mishape of cover either, it was a moulding defect. But would agree that I would describe the speaker vent as a blob, at least that blob was meant to be there. How long before all the fake silver paint that looks like metal comes off? How long before that finger print magnet back cover gets scratched? And is that screen scratch resistant? Love to know. Or is it like the Samsung jet that within a week I had looked a year old even with showing the device every respect with handling?

[deleted post]Guess you don't own/like the phone?
At school if naughty we had to write out lines, bit like your message over and over, to teach us to be good. What exactly is your parents personal bodily areas got to do with samsung?
Well heres your lines to write out:- I must learn to be a grown-up, you can write that a hundred times if you like lol. Oh yeah, back to phones. Still VERY unsure about the build quality of the Galaxy S. It does indeed seem to try to be an iphone clone, but screen apart looks very poor compared even to the wave which has a first rate build quality. Maybe samsung were so worried about signal they opted for ALL plastic, either way it looks and feels flimsy!

Dear friend,
USB On the Go is an amazing feature which turns your mobile in to a mobile computer...
OK.. Let me describe what it is.. The conventional USB connectors in mobiles are only capable of 'BEING CONNECTED' to a computer as a peripheral... They don't have the capability to act as a USB host... (in other words, they can't identify other peripherals... They only can act itself as a peripheral... That's all..)
But with 'USB On the Go' features, Nokia N8 can act as Both USB peripheral and USB Host...
In other words,
If you connect your mobile phone to your computer, it'll act as a peripheral just like other mobiles do...
If you connect another USB device (such as your pen drive, your portable hard drive or another mobile phone) to your Nokia N8 (using the particular cable for 'USB on the go') then it'll act as a host... (It act as a computer...)
I think everybody could understand what I'm saying.. and Can you imaging the potential of this wonderful feature...?
** You can connect your USB Pen Drive directly to the Nokia N8 and explore the contents.. (You no longer need a computer to exchange files...)
** You can extend the capacity of your mobile by just connecting it to a USB pen drive (let's say with 32 GB capacity) and you can listen to the songs in pen drive directly from your phone as long as two devices are connected... (That means you can extend your Music library up to any capacity...!)
** You can connect your Portable hard drive (let's say 1 TB) with huge lot of Divx movies, to your mobile and can connect your mobile to your HDMI TV and watch movies without the help of your computer... (How does it sound...?)
** If you have another mobile, then you can connect that mobile to your Nokia N8 and exchange files just like you do with your computer...
** Not only above... How about other USB Devices...! Such as USB Mouse, USB Key Boards etc... Though it's not yet declared by Nokia, I'm pretty sure, by the help of 3rd party applications, support for the above devices will also be available with the release of Nokia N8...
Now you see... It's a mobile computer... Nothing else... I don't know why still some people want to compare this unit with Samsung galaxy S or Samsung wave or iphone 4g or what ever it is... This is a Smart Mobile Computer... and above those are just mobile phones... END OF THE STORY...!

Andrew, 08 Aug 2010This phone is nice and it has good features but a problem t... moreComparin Blackberry 8830 with SGS u must b out of ur mind........BB 8830 is 2.5ich screen has no 3G,WLAN,CAMERA,RADIO.........jus for professional business guys.....this is an all in one mobile with almost all features and like a PC it runs so many applications.......To cut it off use task killer.......and u still compare SGS with BB8830 without even knowing that there is huge difference between them........
Is it bcoz SGS and Wave have been moving quite well, people tend to post irrelevant and st*pid comparisons??
