Got it yesterday! OMG the Super AMOLED screen is stunning good and looking at the screen is really enjoyable. The font and display of Galaxy S is so fine that it seems like paper and don't even to say the vivid color. The touch screen is very sensitive so it's easy to use. TouchWiz, Samsung's own user interface built on Android, is not bad (personally I think HTC Sense is more sophisticated), one of the best points of TouchWiz is the application list, Samsung just dumps Android's default application listing style and creates its own. I think they make it very well. Rest of the software experience depend on the Android which, needless to say, is decent or pretty good in many areas.

RogerC has a point the phone is spectacular however the gps on google navigation is a little off at times, note i believe it is still in the beta stage so i'm not worrying too much, and it still gets you to where you want to go so i wouldnt write it off. Looking forward to some 2.2 tho!! Booom

I read a lot of comments about iphone4 and samsung i9000 as I wanted to purchase one of them. I've not upgreated my phone for 4 years. There're some bad comments in terms of signal in iphone4, therefore I decided to go for samsung. I'd much appreciate if someone could advise if Samsung is free of singal problem??? I did research on youtube and found following link showing that Galaxy S behave in the same way like iphone4. Please see below.

Be careful, the SGS has very serious problems with the GPS. Imprecise and almost useless. It's either problems with the Broadcom chip or rotten firmware but right now this phone has terrible GPS, it cannot be used for navigation.
Other than that it is quite interesting.. but shame on Samsung!

now I owen Samsung Galaxy S with no flash and iPone 4 with flash. So what? No see problem with Galaxy S.

the only spot that BB win is BBM,other BB features will be uncomparable to galaxy S,N8 or X10 and yeah the ip4.
if u need all around multymedia phone that can handle hardcore works than go to other smartphone.
if u need BBM and willing to spend extra cash to pay BIS line every month than goes to BB.
its different a huge gap between today touch smartphone and Blackberry phone.
superior screen,OS,UI,apps,music player,sound,video,cam,battery,thats what makes smartphone superior. for BB u only have the BBM to enjoy,dont forget other smartphone can run pushmail and other free messenger too like YM,Gtalk,skype,they just dont have BBM.thats all.

In order to compensate, the phone increases the power output of the signal and I guess that heats the phone a bit. Anyway I recomend holding the phone far from your head (use louspeaker function), since the GSM signal might not be very healty to your brain. Anyway, go to the dealer and let the phone to be checked, if you have any doubts.

Hi, Anyone here has an experience were its actually painful to the ear to use the i9000 for a call without an headset. I mean just after 30s to 1 min, it's like the phone is emitting too much heat or radiation.

This phone is just brillant. Its really fast and the best option is the camera. Perfect recorder and a beautiful sound quality :-).

But definitely brother I know for one fact that "Usage of Mobile phone can lead to cancer,brain issues etc...Then GSM base Station are not allowed to be placed near residential areas only at a certain height above the building(not ground) due to health problems".....So my dear Anonymous if u worry too much stop using everything. That's only advice+suggestion I could give you.
