I would just like to add my 2 cents as far as battery issues.
1. I use task killer to disable unused apps and free up ram/cache info and save on a little battery power
2. i setup the brightness manually to be low and the phone is still very bright. The phone on average uses 80-90% of its power from this alone so it is VERY important to manage. I used it auto on the first day and the phone lasted me about 12 hours. Once i set it up manually i got about 14-15. For example 8am-11PM. With lots of use. The phone battery seems very realistic to use in a single day..but more than 20 hours i would say you would have to have moderate to low usage..i would say i have high usage..1st day i had it with a full charge

40% with 3g
the rest just browsing on the phone setting up emails and such
please feel free to email me with any specific questions: kipnitreal01@hotmail.com

Don't worry about the Battery life.. It will improve in about 8 or more discharge/re-charge cycles...
for all other concerns, become a member at
www.xda-developers.com. We have a forum section dedicated for the Galaxy S. See you there...

1 Great recommendation for this phone is an "App Manager" , as android apps always run in the background using battery, not much but some, and by installing a manager, there are a few on the marketplace for free, you can simply go in and terminate them, which will in turn extend your battery life a great deal.

I have already used the samsung i7500 and now using iphone 3gs.
Some questions about i9000.
1) How is battery?
2) Whether contacts from memory card will be transferred to phone? or why bluetooth from nokia phone to this phone? because samsung galaxy i7500 dosen't support this.
3) Whether google maps turns like in iphone.(that means turns the map in the direction where the earpiece is.

Please note that Samsung crippled parts of the original Android code.
If you want to use VPN, don't buy this phone. (Yes, VPN is in there, and with some servers it will work, but they removed parts of the underlying code.)

Rakesh, 20 Jul 2010Wave 8500, does cost 18k, why in the hell galaxy s is 10k c... moreGalaxy S costs more because:
-16GB Memory
-Runs on Android
-4" Screen
-Access to Android market with over 65000 apps
Wave costs less because:
-1.5GB Memory
-Runs Bada OS
-3.3" screen
-Much less apps on Bada OS
Bascially the Galaxy S is more of a 'techie' phone and the Wave is more of a multimedia phone.
