Hi, before bying the galaxy S, can anyone tell me if the swype texting works in the dutch language?

Their "Kies" s... moreI don't have this phone but just in case this might help: 1)If you're phone has a PC connection option in the setting, set it to Storage data, once you connect you'r phone to PC you don't need to use the "Kies" software or any other software, it will be connected like a removable storage where you can copy & paste anything you want. 2)Most of the mobiles/cameras with built-in or removable memory card once connected to PC will have it's storage recognized as removable media by the computer. Just check "My Computer" if there is an additional drive there after connecting your mobile, that will probably be your phone's storage memory.

Good phone, bad support software.
Their "Kies" software does not recognise that the phone is connected to the PC so no photo and video download from the phone possible. I had similar problems with a Samsung Omnia HD, so this is last time I buy a Samsung.

That's a good question. I was wondering the same thing but if money isn't an issue I suggest getting it unlocked because I've done research on the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S. I as well have T-mobile and have seen T-mobile's version and it's quite different. I personally like this one but T-mobile's version is different if you'd like to see T-mobile's version of it just google: Samsung Vibrant & FYI: that's the name T-mobile has given their version of the Galaxy S.

Have had the Galaxy S since 19th June and have fully exploited the potential of this device now, loaded it with multimedia and installed more than 20 very useful apps. The phone is nothing less than phenomenal and does not have any setbacks (i.e iPhone's ridiculous signal problem) and handles everything that i have had to throw at it so far, 720p video captures, DIVX/XVID movies, high res pictures, live audio streams, full internet browsing, 3G video calling and it does it all with minimum fuss and the screen (Super AMOLED) is simply the best bar none. Yes the iPhone has higher resolution but pixel for pixel it has better contrast and colours, the vividness of the screen will spoil you and you will never want a normal TFT again.
The SWYPE text input works very well, the whole experience has just been so smooth and painless.
Some negative points however... Battery life is terrible if you play with it all the time, but this is not an exclusive problem to this phone.
No Flash support as yet, but Froyo release will remedy this.
Overall from social networking to multimedia handling, this phone does it with a smile and never breaks a sweat.
If you can afford it, buy it.

I just got the phone, and i had trouble connecting my usb to my laptop to upload photos or songs. It simply cant read. Anyone facing the same problem? Help needed. tks

I wish people would stop talking about iPhone killer.
That is sooo 2009.
The iphone now has to come up with an android killer.
Last week I upgraded my HTC hero to an iPhone4. Next week I am going to return it and get the Galaxy S. I have extensively researched, thought about it, played with the Galaxy S in the shops and my iPhone4, and have come to the conclusion that where the iPhone4 is a fantastic but flawed phone, the GalaxyS offers more, and has very few of the limitations, restrictions, and proprietary nonsense one has to put up with on the iPhone.
My new iPhone is pretty smooth, but it is NOT free of occasional laggyness. The screen is darn gorgeous, but then so is the Galaxy S screen, and bigger. The only feature I would want is a camera flash, but then in my basic testing, the iphone4 flash is so weak you would not be able to illuminate a dark dinner table in a group shot... so the uses are very limited.
So, back to android it seems!

Is there anyway to somehow get HTC's Sense UI on this phone? I know that this is a Samsung phone but I'm just curious because I like the way Sense looks compared to Touchwiz.
