I have checked Samsung India press release sections and don't see ANY mention of even the product launch it self.
Please give links to official sources if you are stating that Froyo is not going to be supported. Until then I think its safe to disregard rumours.

I find the coverage with Samsung phones to be really poor? this one is no different! very prone to fingerprints on the back

i agree, this phone will be upgraded to 2.2 froyo no question about it. It's going to way too many carriers in order for it not to be upgraded. Besides, samsung announced it themselves on their twitter pages. as for 2.3, im not too sure about that......

Just ordered my I9000 from e2save.com and its coming on friday. just £21/mnth with redemption. 600 min unlimtd txts. can add 1GB for £5. and inclusive 0800, 0845, n another one which iv forgotten for £2.5/mnth. Cud refer the guy who gave extras who sold it to me, very good deal he did.

tried calling the samsung customer care toll free 1800 110011
and ask to redirect to mobiles
and i asked for release dates, they say that it is not going to be released in june.
if anybody has any doubts try calling the toll free number and ask them your all queires

I personally feel that samsung will release android 2.2 for Galaxy S. I don't think they are that stupid to kill off a flagship model by not doing so.
I was reading abt the Galaxy S on wikipedia and according to it, android 2.2 is pretty much confirmed in the near future.

that is very bad news indeed. thats a great drawback. i am now waiting for this phone for a month or so to come out, beliving that it would get froyo. now if that turns out to be true ill be geting htc desire

if cannot update to 2.2 or future os version, & only paid gps is the solution.....i'm not gg to complete my purchase of 2 units & look for other phone instead. real disappointed....
