      Those are some fantastic features.

Meanwhile, you cannot deny the Samsung with the Super AMOLED Screen, DLNA, DivX and Android yumminess.

Even if they were released in the same time frame, teenagers will go buy a pink N8 and we, geeks, will go buy the galaxy.

Software wise - the Galaxy has Android.

I think it's going to be a big decision between the two, and it will be down to personal preference. However I think I can live without a flash, DLNA should provide useful features in the absence of TV Out, and 5MP should be sufficient.

kris, 13 May 2010To all those people who say there is no flash... ITS A F... moreIm not sure about the lack of flash. Even Expansys has revised it's specs to explicitly state that there is no flash. I am 99% sure there won't be a flash.

Im not too bothered, but Im sure it wouldn't have cost an awful lot to add.

The N8 is a camphone for teenagers, all you have to do is check the colors offered with the N8 and you'll understand.

On the other hand the galaxy is a real smartphone, it's in no way comparable with the N8.. spec wise and everything.

um. it sounds like Samsung will lose lots of customers due to a tiny LED FLASH. Well, that's true. I won't buy it and go for the WAVE.

LED FLASH is good for night photo as well as a Torch. Hopefully, Samsung would fix it. Everything else is awesome.

Why do you think that the specs will be different from what we see now even tho its a prototype like you say. Everyone has reason to be concern cause we see it alot from top companies making phones and not putting flash. Most of the time when you see a prototype this well put together it's final. We all hope that its not tho. Samsung we want flash and Tv-out pls pls.

To all those people who say there is no flash...

ITS A FREAKING PROTOTYPE! Things WILL change in the final version.... Samsung have been in the phone business tooo long to not put in led flash. The reason why they didn't put it in was probably because it was not deemed important enough to review. After all, MOST led flash are all the same. Its the hardware and software they wanted to get out for preliminary review!

Is it final that theres no LED flash? That's so dissapointing, because it take all the right boxes, all I was hoping for was to expect a LED flash with such a good HD video camera, you'd think they would include flash for still imaging, that's a step back from every other manufacturer. I may hold & wait for the I8520 or another later high end Samsung, or another Successor to the HTC HD2... if there is one!

Additionally, no amount of DLNA will make up for a physical connection. Not everyone has a DLNA compatible media player hooked up to their TV.

Don't go presuming what other people need/want "anonymous". N97 has 32 Gig memory, Qwerty keyboard, FM Transmitter, FM Radio, 5MP Carl Zeiss Optics, TV Out, Dual LED Flash.

I'd have gone with the N8 if it wasn't for Symbian^3 though and its inevitable lack of applications and dated interface. As it is, I've preordered the Samsung Galaxy S.

Yes I did mean LED Flash. That was always the good thing, go up to an iPhone user - "Can you take photos in the dark? I can!". The i9000 deprives us of that luxury.

you should read the DLNA post below ..

noone needs an FM transmitter, nor video out.
flash is on it's way, you can see videos, already running it on the nexus.

                                  PS: n97 .. superphone .. *hehe*

Although it has Android with its creamy centre, three things stop this from being a Superphone like the Nokia N97.

No Flash, No TV Out, No FM Transmitter.

8 Gig really could do with being expanded - very small considering HD capabilities.

Compared to the Nokia N8, yes, again, Android is the saving grace, but this only has 5MP compared to 12MP on the N8, No Xenon Flash, No HDMI Out, No FM Transmitter.

I don't think people understand what DLNA means. please read http://www.dlna.org/digital_living/product_types/#mobile_frame and http://www.dlna.org/digital_living/how_it_works/ . HDMI is a physical interface. DLNA is not a physical interface.
