This phone looks the business, not just on specs which knock the socks off anything currently out there, but on actually apps/use (see the vids available on youtube). My contract is currently up and I was almost set on getting the HTC Desire until I saw this, this blows it out of the water! Like a few other people it's probably going to be this vs the new iPhone for me, although I think the iPhone will be more expensive on contract than this and I feel that I would have more freedom with this phone and not be handcuffed to Apple! Just wish they would hurry up and announce the released date and carriers for the UK

[deleted post]well, apparently, Nokia is developing Meego to compete with the other OS now, even though Symbian is being developed and I expect to see symbian^3 shortly, and i think Nokia said that they would announce symbian^4 later this end of year?
from what I see in the video, Symbian^3 is pretty good, so is the maemo 5 for now and let just wait for the MeeGo

Because a LOT of people, me included, think that a slide out QWERTY keyboard is redundant, clunky and not needed.
A phone with a screen this big needs to be as lightweight as possible. This means NO keyboard.

It is apparently going to AT&T.
I hate AT&T!!!!!!! The service sucks.
I want the phone to go to T-mobile.

Yeah this phone just passed through FCC and is coming to AT&T! I'm eligible for an upgrade in May so this will definetely be my next phone. Lets just hope they don't cripple the phone like the did the backflip.

One thing i have to say , the phone looking very good but after my i8910 samsung BAD no no VERY BAD software support i will not fall for it again. So Samsung must listenig customers needs first and then making new devices.

This phone does not have camera flash.

i think this phone is very nice at hardware & design...
i buy sonyericsson phones because i like cameraphones
but this time i want something different wich will have a decent camera & android software.
i was thinking about sony x10 or this samsung...
i would like to ask your opinions & if the samsung supports flash in the browser and if the camera has led flash.

Play.com in the UK has updated their website, I saw it in google product page listed for £399, but the price is not removed from the website, The £399 is inline with Samsung wave which can be pre ordered for £339 at play.com

a free app could fix keypad layout to 4 row. Depends if Android store has one. Hope the phone is not too expensive I bet Nokia will annouce their new Mameo around that time to steel some of samsungs thunder and if nokia can make 1ghz and at least 512ram that will be a killer phone.

Nice phone, nice look, nice specs. But I do not get one thing, these days it is almost a must to have a 4 row side sliding QWERTY keypad in such phones. Why does not Samsung understand this simple thing. Additionally HTC was working on a Magnetic Stylus for Capacitive screens, if that too could be added - great. And nowadays 1080p is actually possible, then why stop at 720p @30fps video recording. Apart from these things, Samsung has come a long way & this phone really rocks.
HOPE SAMSUNG FOLKS ARE LISTENING !

[deleted post]quite right.samsung has emerged as a striking company.was dumb in past.but hardwork has paid nd samsung is now the top competitor for other companies.nokia is history.for the last 6 months i hav noticed that nokia is no lomqer releasing new technology.only sony had that spark but even that is gone now.other companies have already given out their bests while samsung is working very hard nd has already given out new technology than others.

I'll buy this i9000 Galaxy, even if it has no camera built in. I'd better use a digicam to get a photoshot. Phone's camera 3,5,8...MP? just look good on its screen display...
