Samsung should have used the same battery capacity on Beam which is 1800 mAh. With 1G processor and a large display, 1500 capacity wouldn't be sufficient enough.

Samsung has grown from its first omnia ui to this new touchwiz 3 which to me is a major improvement over the old ones.
Remember Samsung isn't a software company but have managed to create something better for touch and also easy on the eyes. It is also much simpler to use. Oh by the way Samsung makes the best Camera for a phone period especially when compared to a point and shoot.

Nokis is still the biggest of all cell phone companies, with 38% market share and over 440.000.000 sold units last year... you're right, Nokia has lost the ball a little, but they will be comming back...

Evet\rything else is better.
Especially divx/xvid support!
And those .mkv playback availability!
You can say: who needs 720p playback on 4 inch screen and you will be right.
But this availability demonstrates muscles - and every company needs muscles on this competitive market.

Everyone should stop looking at the Camera spec of camera phones these days.. they all suck, just get a digital camera for crying out loud
even my Sony ericsoon W900i 2Mp camera can beat these 5 Mp camera... i have i900 so i can tell...

No more, and I think less, than othe manufacturers. Samsung is the worlds leading telephone manufacturer the only competition is from HTC. Nokia has lost the ball years ago and Iphone has one model so hardly a contender also nazi i-tunes makes it a non-cjoice. I like to tell the phone what to do, not the other way around. I can agree that the UI in some of Samsungs models have been sub par but this is Android with sense 3 on top which looks great. Even their own new Bada system looks pretty cool so things are changing...

Finally, they start to put some emphasis on weight and thickness. The rest of the functions are all fine, but why is it so damn hard to find a light and thin smartphone these days?

One thing that Samsung has to do : they must sack their current team designer and replace them with ingenious people. A usd 600s has same design with 140 dollar phones??! Give a little bit respect to your customers.

For those who are asking:
1. Why only 5mp?
-only a noob wants a 8mp or up.
-while us wants a better lens!
2. Why no flash?
-So it can have a thin body (9.9mm)
3. Can i transfer photos/videos via bluetooth?
-Yes, Android 2.1 can DO THAT, while you need an extra free app to transfer files (documents, folder, etc)
4. Looks like an Iphone!
-So what? Iphone is made out of Samsung hardwares, just look what iphone 3gs is using as its processor, A SAMSUNG PROCESSOR!
5. Why it has a poor camera?
-It is not a camera phone, i dot even have a dedicated camera key! its a multimedia phone where you get all the media from a HD video recorder or SLR!
6. 1GHZ? why it is not Snappdragon?
-Because samsung 1ghz processor is 3x better than 1gz snappdragon.
7. RAM Size?
-NO ONE KNOWS! samsung is still not releasing it. But i think it got 384MB of ram or more (probably 512MB ram)
8. Document Editor/Viewer?
-Yes! Word, Excel, Powerpoint, ANDROID CAN DO THAT.
9. Web Browser Flash?
-Out of the box? Maybe yes or no, but Adobe Promises a Flash 10 for all android device with a good processor. Now you can play games on Facebook! LOL
10. Price?
- Maybe Cheaper than HTC Android Phones! LOL
11. Release Date?
- Probably July

What is multi input method? Also, can you input into the calendar in landscape mode? or do you have to go back and forth to portrait/landscape like you do with the Samsung Omnia HD?
