i am still using my samsung i9000 with 2.1 eclair... tell me how do i upgrade it to 2.3 or 2.2 please let me know

Hi can someone plz plz help me I have a Samsung Galaxy S, It keeps on freezing it switches off but the menu button and back button light stays on. After I reset it and it goes back on all my contacts and messages are deleted and it gives me the same wallpaper and 6 icons when you do a factory reset. My apps are still fine and working. When you press the power button it's suppose to give you 4 options (Silent mode, Data network...) but after it froze it only gives me a option on power off
Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with my phone?

its not the latest but its sooo easy to put on this phone and the phone becomes so much faster and better after using it, battery life improves phenomonally for example.

This is a good phone for sure. but you can get much better phones in this range. I used this phone for around 3 months or so. Now I am using LG OPTIMUS BLACK. It is far better than the galaxy s i9000 as far as battery life..color..display quality, touch and performance is concerned. the optimus black is stylish, slim built...light weight phone. Much better than galaxy S.

I like phone very much. But I have got the problem with the battery. It does not even stay for 4 hours after charging it.

even I am using i9000....and just love the phone....as far as battery life is concern it totally depends on ur usage....for me the battery life is almost 12-15 hours....

This happens when the phone memory goes below 20mb. Move some apps to the memory card or delete some apps on phone. The app Apps2SD will make the process very easy.

Do not compare this phone with iphone 3gs because 3gs is no way near to i9000 but you can compare it with iphone 4.

Hi I'm using the Glaxy S I9000 right now... and I've been texting for around one year and it was completely fine. But from yesterday, when every time someone texts me it says in the notifications "text message memory full (incoming message rejected due to full memory. Please delete old messages...)". However, when I check my phone memory it says there is still 5.01GB left in my internal sd card and internal phone storage available 1.49GB. I went to "manage sim card messages" and it says there are no messages on the sim card. So i deleted most of my threads that had over 3 msgs and nothing happened. Can anyone help me out?

kofi james, 15 Jan 2012pls im living in a remote area so the 3G does not work prop... moreas far as I'm aware the phone should do that automatically. All you need to do is make sure your network provides edge, or gprs for instance. My phone is unlocked and if I use a virgin network sim card and their 3g signal isn't working then it automatically works on gprs. If I use a 3network sim card then they only have 3g. I dont think you need to do much but be on a network which has edge. If you need to choose network on phone go to settings> wireless and network>mobile networks>network operators> select network. And then choose the network you are using...if needed.
