Who cares about the ICS update. You can all upgrade to the new Galaxy S 3 next year. We wont get ICS till then anyway.

In my experience I've never had to reinstall apps when upgrading the O/S (like you don't have to reinstall your software when upgrading from one version of windows to another).

everything work very well only very poor on searching for sattelites.cannot use my gps when needed.one more thing..when someone called and we are sweating the phone will hang.the screen are too sensitive with water

I noticed all progress was lost in games, although i reinstalled them (after update) via a back up app instead of the sd card. Later i realised the sd card was quicker and might keep the progress...although i tried it afterwards to no avail. However i would recommend a back up app as well.

Hi,
My Galaxy S is on Android 2.2 Froyo. I want to upgrade it to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. I have bought few apps from the Android market. If I upgrade then do I need to buy the apps again? Also if I take a back up of the games on SD card then after the upgrade will the games go back to initial levels or will my career remain as it is now?

i got a problem in my samsung i9000 galaxy s, if anybody can solve my problem then i will be very thankx to u.
my phone is not opening. i used it for 4 months but today in the morning it was closed itself. i tried to open it but it just start and again closed and it continue like that.. i checked the buttery too, its ok its 75% charged.
so plz what is need to do?

1.which update (gingerbread ver.)is available for... more1. Any version available on internet is available in pakistan. e.g mine is 2.3.5 (xxjvt) that i downloaded and flashed onto the device from net.
2. Battery life is reasonable but depends on usage. Mine usually lasts more than a day or possibly two if you squeeze it. With active usage the battery may drain in 5-6 hours or so.
3. No heating issue here. However it also depends on your rom and kernel as some of these really put the hardware to the limits
