So, 1 1/2 or 2 more Months wait for Update... Late but good news...

I've been using it for 2weeks. Its pretty good.
Pros:
1. Price - bought it for 17.9k from letsbuy.com (with RCOMLSB) coupon code (may be expired now)
2. Speed - 1GHz, no lag at all when browsing, playing around, quite zippy
3. Size - Slim and 4 inch screen, very easy to type.
Cons:

1. DDKB2 firmware which came with phone sucks.. upgrade to XXKB3 (european firmware) which is very good compared to DDKB2
2. rooting, flashing firmware required to get the wonderful experience (quite easy though)
3. GPS didn't work, have used GPS-fix/GPS Aid, FasterFix, etc to get it work.
4. H.264/AVC codec (youtube HD videos) doesn't play
well in this device.
5. Not so great screen compared to I9000

Galaxy S I9000 is available for 21.9k on ebay.in If you are tight on budget < 20k go for this one, else I would suggest I9000. for extra bucks, you will 16Gb memory, amoled screen.

On thing I would like to mention about this masterpiece is that, It is Samsung Galaxy S only with somewhat different hardware but whatsoever gets out for Samsung Galaxy S the same would be available for Galaxy S i9003 as well. Like Gingerbread Update & all..........

Literally the best phone I owned yet. Fast performance, great display, and since it uses Android... lots of apps!
Battery could have been better. But maybe its because I tinker with it the whole day lol.

Hi guys.....
2.5 months past and going good with this device....
One thing I have to mention.....
If you are a phone freak then I would suggest you to go for samsung galaxy s I 9000...
Reasons being...
1. Super amoled (i like this when it saves battery compared to sc-lcd)
2.slimer,less weight.
3.16 gb internal memory+2 gb rom (it really hurts with 2gb and when you spend rs.1500 for a sd card:-(.......)
4.lots of custom roms available ( I don't think sl will get custom roms in the near future(spare rex 4u) as only indian user should develop one).and it is most likely to get a 2.3 update(already lots of 2.3 roms available).no talks about the 2.3 update for the indian version.....:-(
5.tv-out
6.better cpu and graphics......
7.time tested and more reliable and better support from co users since it has a lot of users...(i can still remember the number of hits I got in youtube after the first week of it's launch.but we indians dont care to even post a video including me.blame it on our attitude.no one cares about i9003 device internationally.)
8.i would suggest to buy i9000 and use a battery of i9003.yes it is compatible.....
9.and at last you can get a pouch/cover for i9000 in market but nothing for i9003 since it is thicker.....(i tried in vain for 2 days.....:-(.....)
You get all the above mentioned things for 4-5 k extra.....and I think that's worth ( I repent now:-(.......)
Remember this applies only for those who are phone freaks and not a normal user..
And for those who have a tight budget of 20k stop thinking and get this phone(samsung galaxy sl I 9003) before the stock runs out....

wait guys this phone gonna come at 15k inr sooner price slash for indian customer just like wave2 is availaible at around 14.5k inr.

This cell phone workis hell with the wifi when you are out of country, I am currently in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, and here in my hotel I have a open wifi, I tried to connect which did not work, and often shows are disconnected, I also used the network which has password authentication, and I entered the coorect password, which also did not work.
The same is done by my colleague having HTC HD DESIRE, and this is connecting for both, and the same settings are followed….it connects and shows excellent signal, and able to connect to anything. Where as with Samsung i9003 it sucks, it never got connected.
This cell phone is designed to excess the wifi in local country where you purchase? Its hell….
I personally recommend not to buy this, until they give warranty of connecting to wifi outside country…
