I dont know y people are commenting badly on this phone...Im using it for 45 days...no problem till now...i bought through flipkart....I use 16gb card with nearly 11gb data...no hanging so far,,,2g is very impressive...wifi connection is awsome...sound thru headphones is excellent n display is satisfactory...No signal problems....battery life is 28hrs with moderate usage...may not be the best phone but its ok for 17k budget...im using 2.3.6 GB from beginning.........any questions are welcome guys......

All those who want Android 4.0.3 and have their phones rooted ...
Install cyanogenomod 9 from xda-developers.

It is an average mobile set,and i dont like it.
Voip not working properly, VPN setup is not working for me for may apps (which was quite fast in my iphone),
Camera gets hung easily and the device needs a restart.
Not recommended, Samsung sucks

please dont buy this phone. i m a user of this model for the last two month . i9003 gets freez with 16gb fully loaded with divx 640*480 video. the audio output through the inpack handsfree is very very very bad. one main thing to notice.... the camera lense , i mean the outer cover of the camera have holes under the silver lining , the dust enters through that holes and the camera will be useles , i experienced this problem and solved by cleaning the cover by samsung service center . this is a manufacturing fault. the next thing is the singnal lose in rural areas where other phones working perfectly. and also can find my older posts about this phone............

Battery back up , hanging problem , scratches on the screen, apps forcely closed often...! Wht is this... Scrap.. Galaxy s19003

Configure a static ip in your phone in the wifi settings and connect to your wifi. This method works very well and it worked for me also(google it if you dont know how to configure a static ip). Android version 2.3.6 is very stable.

Im using galaxy s gt i9003 for almost a year.. With froyo 2.2.1. 4 days back when i updated to gingerbread 2.3.6 , my wifi crashd nd it wudnt connect to my modem.. Its detecting my modem but it goes like " scanning.. Connecting... Disconnecting.."
any solutions? i tried factory reset but dint work.. I even reinstalld 2.3.6 thru odin but stil no use...

Sorry, but I disagree. The battery back_up isnt a bad as people say it is. What riles me with the device its its extreme sensitivity to voltage fluctuation I.e. some chargers causes the screen to freeze, why? Does i903 have a capacitor

Ashwin, 20 Mar 2012hi Friends. I have a samsung galaxy sl i9003. is there any ... moreboth I9000 and I9003 models will not receive the official ICS firmware, because the TouchWiz UI can't be run properly on I9000 and I9003.
all i know is that Android 4 won't be coming to Galaxy S and SL.
you can wait for ICS ROM's available for your device to get stable.

though there are many ways to upgrade the OS, i think the best way is to do it with SAMSUNG KIES....install latest kies in ur pc...connect mobile in usb mode after full charging and run kies...it will prompt u for a firmware upgrade...accept it...importantly its a big update..so u need a broadband connection with a good speed...back up ur data before doing all this...
