For those like me who doesn't want to take the risk to root this phone or flash some unofficial OS, this phone is a dud. More than half a year and no Gingerbread. Samsung have been treating their users like crap. Currently it is very disappointing - freezes, reboots or shut itself down at night so that i have to use a 3 years old Nokia as an alarm clock... yes, this phone can't even be depended upon to wake me up. Epic Fail, Samsung!

how much is the battery life on this phone? i need answers from users who r using this phone for quiet long time, i dont use 3g, i ll play games, use wifi, and listen to music and make few calls, what do u think will it pass one whole day?? as i asked a sales person who told me that this phone is discontinued due to battery issues..!! is it true?? plz help i already bought this phone it ll be delivered tomorow

i have upgraded to 2.3.4 GB and experiencing one problem regarding touch. when typing any message on horizontal mode, it gets stuck and works fine on vertical angle, how to get rid of this problem ???

can we use the spb shell launcher on this phone ? and why suddenly opinions of ppl r changing abt the phone? many ppl r complaining tht this phone lags, how much? so defy would be better or wuld be the same issue?? plz need help !! sorry for bad english

this phone is really bad i got it replaced they gave me a new handset with same old issues so i think all the i9003 has same heating hanging lag and battery backup issues so don't buy it for sure

i9003 is really sad phone better not to buy it only and only if the gb upgrade is available then the performance and features might improve or es
le its really sad phone first month of use will be ok the it will be really sad slow like anything and battery back up really nothing.

Pe... moreReboots, lags and freeze happened due to so many program running on the background that we don't see on the display. To check these running applications/programs; click setting--application--manage application--running and then force close the program/application that you don;t need to run at that moment. Hope this will help. Some Android apps or programs always start automatically. Unlike iphone IOS wherein the user has to turn it on manually. That is why iphone users say that their phone runs faster than any other android phone. You just have to control the android os and apps. Some of their apps sometimes turn on every specific time of the day. You just have to understand the android os way. Like my I9003, i can use it for 5-8 days before charging it. On standby, it took me 2 weeks before recharging it. When playing angry birds and hd games (using wifi), It took the most 2 hours before recharging it. So when playing games, suggest to plug the charger but some of other phone functions might not work (design set-up). Hope this would help you. Also, suggest installing anti-virus apps to avoid infection of your phone. There are so many viruses in the android market. Android OS has 50% of the market share and still increasing; Same situation as Windows. Android phones is comparable to Iphones. The only advantage of Iphones over android phones is the numerous apps available on the itunes market. But android phones have wider model selections which could meet the specific customer's requirements. Just remember, there is no smartphone that "has it all". So carefully choose the correct one. I believe I9003 can compete (in performance) even to Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100. Just choose a phone that really meet your daily needs and you will surprised that you can save a lot of money. So determine your daily needs and then choose the appropriate phone for you. Like mine, for minimal telephony and bulk is internet browsing, ebook reading, I use my Galaxy tab 7 P1000. For bulk telephony and minimal other apps use, i use my I9003. For telephony and texting, I just use ordinary "dumb" cellphone.

ok guys for those of u who get 6 hrs or battery back check the apps that u have installed>> those that take more than 1% of ur cpu is a =atleast 5-10 mins of ur battery back up so consider which apps u install i get minimum 12 hrs of backup if i use wifi/games..unistall all the unnecessary progs and i think performance would be awesome..its like ur comp u load too many progs at startup even though u have 4gb ram it tends to work slow hope this helps.its the same in all android phones defy or optimus or any other higher end phone..hope this helps

Already 3months, I was not much happy with this I9003... Performance was lag and freeze.. with some auto reboots sumtimes... Battery drains very fast... Really regret of this, i should've gone for MOTOROLA DEFY or LG OPTIMUS BLACK instead of this samsung crap, I got this I9003 just becoz it is cheaper of two of them but now really regret.. cheap doesn't come good result.. =( *No offence*

GB, 10 Sep 2011hey guyz is the official gingerbread update is out yet?? im... moreI purchased this lovely phone almost 5 months ago and Samsung Service center informed me that GB 2.3.4 will be available last June, then July, then August and now they cannot say when the upgrade will be officially available. Samsung please work doubly hard to have this GB upgrade available. It would be a shame if Sony will upgrade all their phones to Ice Cream Sandwich by q4 of 2011 considering that Samsung is the number 1 seller of cellular phone in the world. A phone is good if your OS is also good.

Your phone will go back to its original setting and programs. Carefully reinstall your chosen programs but be sure to install the anti-virus program first to avoid virus infecting your phone. Please note that android OS has 50% share of the phone OS market. With this, lots of geeks are installing/integrating viruses on some of the apps in the market. Virus can ruin/damage your phone and we always tend to blame the hardware/phones. The biggest enemy of the phone is accidentally leaving it on the car's dashboard (exposed to extreme temperature and moisture).

I9003 is downgraded version f I9000 n coz f that it has sum stupid performance than I9000... Whn i bought this phone thn in first few months it was running awesum but as the tym is passing, it z showing sum nonsense performance... My phone hangs approx 4-5 times a day, but its for a temporary time of about 10 secs n thn works fine n whn i call sum1 it freezes sumtimes n the call is sent after a minute automatically means the phone lags in sum situations... Another problem is battery... Sumtyms whn i put my phone off n thn whn i switch it on again thn i find that much of the battery is drawn n it shows very less battery thn it was before switching off... Whn i put on camera, a white line is appeared in the middle of screen but that is not there in the pics which i click... Thanx jesus...my brother is using galaxy s i9000 frm past 1 year n its running smoothly without any lags or problems n mine z only 6 months old... I must say to the people who are planning to buy it, better go for galaxy s i9000... Its much better than i9003 n also has superior display, gpu, ram n many other features...

but bro,i will advice you to wait for sony ericsson neo V for your kind of budget.
ITS ATLEAST BETTER THEN THIS AT ALMOST SAME PRICE.
we are not sure for SL getting any further updates
but wid neo V we are sure its 2.3.4 out of box.
so finally,its your decision to make.
