I've just tried updating my S Advance with Samsung Kies via USB, it says I have the latest firmware, no update available at all in the UK. No network issues since October when I bought it, no application issues, excellent phone.

pacman, 17 Nov 2012Dear all , good day to you and i hope u are all well . th... morewith android phone you will feel much more open to the world as most cell phone companies manufacture android phones. android is much more fun than ios. apple's restrictions are major drawbacks for them. still if somebody wants a phone with few years support than apple is way better because they provide updates for a good period of time whereas most samsung phone are stuck with their original os...poor service from samsung, they are making too many phones and making it difficult for themselves to provide software updates. galaxy R users are the most unlucky people. a good phone never got updated.

i get my Galaxy 9070 advance for just more than a month,but i facing hanged problem all the time, start fr once a wk, thn twice a wk n lately almost everyday, to solve this hang problem, i need to take out battery every time to restart, no other way.i do not instal much apps, almost no game instal.lst wk met a fren n he oso facing exactly same problem.i call Samsung Msia they only gv me stupid solution ,ie ask me take out memory card n format the hp. Anyone got any suggestion helping me solve my problem? thks

thank you to all who replied to my earlier post regarding the s advance .
I finally got it and am liking it a lot . the clarity of the screen is not as good as the iphone 5 , but i understand tat this is also half the price . no complaints there -:) , the iphone goes to the mrs casue she likes a simple phone and just likes the iphone 5 .
I hope to be a part of this thread and be in touch with u all .

[deleted post]galaxy s3 uses gorilla glass 2 and it's protection is worse than the gs2 in drop tests. even on gorilla glass you will need a screen protector as no glass currently can protect your phone from scratches. just buy a good screen protector and you will be fine at least with scratches. don't listen to anyone, always use a screen protector even when you have gorilla glass. ....

i bought this mobile one week ago and this is the best mobile at that price range.
till now i am not facing any problem like network bar or call dropping. i tried some games on s advance like shadowgun
need for speed most wanted
asphalt 7
batman dark knight rises
riptide gp
all games work very well without lag.
also it is upgradable to jellybean. so stop crying for ICS :)
this mobile use corning gorilla glass confirmed by Samsung via mail.
and for god sake gorilla glass is scratch resistance not scratch proof so there is possibility to some scratches if you not handle carefully.
there is no zoom for camera but who cares it's picture
quality is good. if you want good camera buy DSLR camera or any other camera within 10-12k.
battery life is ok i am getting more than 12 hours battery life and i am playing games a lot.
in quadrant benchmark test it's score-2909
which is i think quit good but when i again do this
benchmark i am getting score around 2800 but it's ok.
sound is also very good on s advance.
