You have to choose your network whether GSM or WCDMA under Settings - Wireless and Networks - Mobile Networks - Network Mode. Do not choose Auto mode.

guru, 30 Aug 2012battery life is very lowI own s advance for more then 4 months. No problem at all; nice look, very good features. The signal issue it is up to the network provider. Buy with confidence.

It's a best mid range phone. ICS update is expected soon but has kept low by samsung because of ongoing tussle with half eaten apple.

I own an s advance. Network drops immediately after a call creating a lot of nuisance. Also it fails to capture the network especially after you come out of a low/zero network place like an elevator. I had given it to the local service center and they have confirmed that they have received a lot of similar complaints for this particular model. Would recommend anyone considering this model to hold on till this issue is resolved.
PS: As of yesterday no update to ICS was available for this model.

Galaxy S2 has 4.27 inch screen) and extra money (Galaxy S2 costs approx. Rs 6500 to Rs7000 more then S Advance) is not the matter for you then i suggest you to go with Galaxy S2 because it is flagship device of Samsung so it will recieve future upgrades more quickly then Galaxy S Advance.
