Most of what I have said is my opinion. Some of the things I have said are publicised facts. The whole idea of a forum is so people can discuss ideas and learn things from other people. I am always interested in what other peoples opinions are. I guess you are a Samsung loyalist which is why you fail to aknowlege that perhaps this phone is not perfect. For the record, my current phone is the Galaxy S. I don't think there is such thing as a perfect smartphone.

i've read mikey and fury opinions and i think they both have a good knowledge about galaxy s II but there is also a lack of knowledge from the part of mikey..
Someone also said that galaxy s II camera is way behind than sony arc.. Before giving any opinion on gsmarena one should do some research using google.. and youtube...

I really like this phone but it has gotten too big dimension wise. I currently have the Galaxy S and don't think I could live with it being any larger, so sadly this phone may not be an option. Looks like I'll have to go with the Atrix instead. I wish Samsung would work on reducing the bevel size and the height instead of making it 1 mm thinner. Something along the lines of how apple will be doing the new iPhone 5 then this phone would have been perfect!

Until the infrastructure and more importantly, the software catches up, the latest crop of uber-phones have little advantage over their forebears.

My mind isn't made up yet so I will have to wait for some official announcements. It does look however like the Samsung Galaxy S 2 will not feature HDMI.

Three years contract though, I thought two years was bad enough!!!

Lets hope that the Tegra platform proves to the best then!

Mikey, 06 Mar 2011As much as I love this phone, I do find some of the feature... moreYes you make some great points here - But I have to rebuttal, From a Canadian Point of View

1st - My Provider and Employer has been testing the LTE network... and has stated they are now going to go forward with this network.

2nd - NFC is in Infancy - yes but in a year to two years it will be closer to being common place(other phones will add it next year)

3rd - lol @ 1 gig of Ram. Since you have a computer why would you even say this...Now that a phone has 1 gig of ram Programs Can/Will be written to use it.

4th Here I am stumped... I am hoping that there is going to be some sort of HDMI to Mini USB Cable or Docking Station with HDMI..it wouldnt make sense to have the ability to Play @ 1080p and not have any output. But since the Phone is not released this point is mute.

Finally I am Praying what you are saying, that the Tegra 2 is greater than the Exynos is 100% accurate, because that is the chip we are getting in North America - so please please be correct.

Now for you who can change phones on a whim, then yes go with what you find suits your needs today. But the majority of us are not in that position. Now here in Canada we are locked into a 3 year contract. So getting a phone that will be able to use features that will be here in year or two (even if not as fast as newer models) makes a lot of sense in my opinion.

I am not saying that you are wrong, just different views from different needs - Fury

As much as I love this phone, I do find some of the feature a bit of a gimmick.

Firstly, (from a UK point of view) 21Mbps internet speed is pointless considering there is not a single network that provides a speed of more than 7.2Mbps. And In real terms it is actually unlikely you will get more than about 3.6Mbps.

Secondly, NFC is very much in its infancy so by the time we find ourselves in a position to use it, we will have probably have changed our Smarthone about three times anyway.

Thirdly, 1 GB RAM? Does any application actually need that much? And in terms of the user experience, most of the current high end single core android phones are so smooth and lag free that you couldn't possibly improve the user experience.

Fourthly, this phone has no HDMI out. Yes it migh have a lovely screen, and yes that screen might be better than that of the LG optimus 2x, but the LG has HDMI output with 1080p support so who cares!

Lastly, there is little evidence to suggest that Samsungs processor and GPU is better than the Tegra 2 platform. In fact many recently released benchmarks suggest that Tegra may have a slight advantage.

Don't get me wrong, I love Samsung and this looks like a great handset. I just don't think its perfect and think we need to look at the other alternatives on the market. Furthermore, if like me you change your phone frequently, you will probably never use half the features. Personally think I am going to order the LG because of the HDMI alone. You can just use it like a portable media device and watch movies and play games in full High Definition on a large tv. The Motorola Atrix looks really nice too, I am just a little concerned about the build quality.
