I miss the notification on my old LG letting me know with an alert ring, I have a missed call or voice mail. New to Galaxy Sll. Is there such a thing on the Galaxy?

Just updated the firmware on my gs2 fr gingerbread 2.3.4 to ics 4.0.3. Had the opportunity to update for about 2 mths now here in Jamaica via keis or OTA but was very hesitant dues the many negative reviews I'd seen here and in many other forums. Not too familiar with the UI as yet and didn't really know that much about gingerbread either but I have noticed some improvement in using ics such as more fluid movement of touch screen, better graphics, improved features. Still able to access wifi from notification bar as well and been surfing Web since update a few hrs ago and battery life seems better already. Updated through keis and have had one crash since. Will try to give progress as I get more familiar with UI.

I am from qatar. would like to buy the S2. I am not sure ,which version i should go..I heard,the model GT-I9100..might be the g version available in gulf(??).please clearly advice to proceed further,confused with the user opinions about g & non g versions?
Hope i get a better advice from the great users.

set phone as default in the pop-up that comes when you dial a number after performing the above
