thanks for the feedbacks regarding the ICS, seems some good improvement, with face detections, I am always worried, what happens if your front camera get damaged? you can never get to the phone! so i leave that option
as regarding your battery use for the first time, I used mine right down to 10% (almost empty) then as said charged 10 hours, and this cycle repeated 3 times. I turned my phone off during the first 3 cycle of charging.
on moderate-heavy use, you will get nearly 36 hours, if you also follow some of the tips suggested here, like lowering your displaying, turn off background data sync, etc.
overal on heavy use you will get 12 hours, so don't get too surprise by that, that is what everyone gets, and what everyone reported.
make sure you do that initial 3 cycle of charging, it would help the battry, also if from time to times you turn off your unit and back on again, its like rebooting (once a week)
good luck and enjoy this beauty, you will not put it down for at least 3 months!

Hi guys I'm getting this phone end of Dec and I know it comes with gingerbread ryt bt I wanted to ask since I'm new to android,can u upgrade to ice cream sandwich?bt just updatn the software?n hw do u do that?u dnt have to send it in for upgradn ryt? Thanx

AnonD-10882, 30 Nov 2011I just bought this phone can anyone tell me how long should... moreregarding the pattery life, please just spend few minutes and read the past two days posts here, there were loads of excellent suggestions, so no point repeating.
I would suggest for the first time, use the battery right till its flat, then turn it off leave it charge for at least 10-12 hour, repeat this cycle 3 times!
with new battery perhaps its best not to charge it while palying games etc, just give it few days, then its as robust as iron!
you will enjoy this phone, it will change your life!
apple fan boys don't even know about speaktoit, when I talked to them about it , they were so impressed, as at the moment sirri can't recognize british accent, also there is no UK location added, so its a total mess, while speaktoit do all of that, and does it perfectly!
love this phone, its just amaizing!

I just bought this phone can anyone tell me how long should i charge it for the first time..is it ok if i leave the phone to charge the whole night..and is it ok if i charge the phone while playing games since i am a hard user(2hours gaming and 2hours web browsing) i heard i will get only 5 hours is it true if not please tell me how long should i get..
Since i am new to android i will be happy if anyone gives me tips on how to improve the battery life

My SG SII doesn't have Music Hub. At home screen there is My files instead of Music hub in the last line. What is wrong with it? I've reset it twice to factory setting.

sbr, 30 Nov 2011Can anyone help, does SGSII capturing video with video ligh... morehi... with regard to taking video with video light, yes it captures with video light. all you have to do is to switch on the flash on the left side of the screen when in video mode and once you start recording, you will see the light as well. with regard to your other question of memory, never experienced it. cheerio!

It is necessary to have the phone drained the first time to cope up with the battery storage and have it charged switched off. Until it is fully charged, that is the only time you can switch on your phone. The samsung Galaxy sII has a power saver which allows you to manage your battery usage of up to 70%
