I had this phone from 3 August 2018 to 4 September 2018, stopped charging after 15 days then got a refund. I got 4.5 hours screen-on-time with a new battery which is abysmal. Performance was good (surprisingly) on 2.3.4, 4.0.3 and 4.1.2. Loads of battery packs are available at eBay ranging from 3500mAh to 4800mAh, they increase the phone size but you can get at minimum 10 hours screen-on-time which is similar to the Galaxy Fold. I miss it :( Definitely would get one again (as a secondary phone).

Ratings:
Performance (after tweaking the settings) - 8/10, before - 6.5/10
Battery - 4/10 (, with an extended battery - 8/10)
Camera - 6/10
Design - 9.5/10
Screen Quality - 7/10
Build Quality - 6/10
Value - 10/10 (can't get better phones at this price, 16GB storage is uncommon for phones under £40)

How to get Max Performance:
Disable everything below -
- GPS (Location)
- Sync
- Auto Update in Play Store
- NFC (I9100P)
- Bloatware
- System Sounds
- Vibration
- Notifications
- Antivirus Apps (they are useless)
In Developer Options -
- Enable Force 4x MSAA
- Scroll all the way down to Limit Background Processes and pick No Background Processes (doesn't affect functionality)
- For Window, Transition Animation Scale and Animator Duration Scale choose 0.5x or off for all three options (this speeds up the phone significantly)
- Use an Adblock Browser e.g. Brave

How to get Max Battery Life -
- Keep the brightness all the way down
- Disable Notifications
- Disable Auto-Update Apps
- Disable Bloatware
- Turn off System Sounds
- Don't use Live Wallpapers, use a dark wallpaper as this is an AMOLED display
- I highly recommend a high capacity (3000mAh+) as it really does improve battery but adds bulk to the phone, MBuyNow is the best option IMO.
- Downgrade to Android 4.0.4 or 4.0.3 for the best battery life (Play Services will not update by itself, also saving battery), the ROMS are at the updato website for your specific model

Minimum Rating - 49/70 (70%, 7/10, 3.5 Stars)
With performance improvements - 50.5/70 (72%, 7.2/10, 3.6 Stars)
With an extended battery - 53/70 (76%, 7.6/10, 3.8 Stars)
With performance improvement and an extended battery - 54.5/70 (78%, 7.8/10, 3.9 Stars)

Still an impressive device in 2019. I am reminded about how light and empty-feeling they seemed after the (then) awesome HTC desire. Almost as much as the first time I held the original Star Tac.
Mine is now 8 years old and with a $10 replacement battery it works well! The OS updates have slowed it down of course and some apps are painfully slow. However, everything works and it is a great emergency phone. The camera looks misty - seems to be an issue with some old devices. When hiking it's a great spare phone but mainly, it's got a heap of tunes and audio books - without a SIM it runs for days and charges very quickly. I tend to walk with it for hours at a time and leave my main phone off...

These things are durable compared to new devices so kids can play with them fine. I wouldn't try to rely on one as my main phone except when trouble strikes. As a spare thing around the house or while travelling, they're still very useful.

The S2 form factor is good, not just for people with smaller hands! I expect that as trend change, an S2 -sized machine with faster internals will again be popular. Maybe we will all have tablets plus a little phone? A souped-up S2 would be very handy.

Still quite usable, I had it for 15 days until it stopped charging. I replaced it with an OEM New battery but it barely lasted 4 hours of screen-on time.
                    Pros:
                    Nice Screen
                    Decent Performance
                    Design (subjective)
90% of apps will still work
                    Cons:
Build quality isn't great, somehow managed to not break even after flexing it with full force
Android 4.3 minimum would have been better
Heats up alot around the camera after a few mins of use.

Andy the duracell battery is good for the S2. Much better than an OEM thats been sat in a warehouse for who knows how long.

This phone was released on Monday 2nd May 2011! You know what else is a Monday 2nd May? The year 1729! You know what happened on 2nd May 1729?... Well I'll leave it to you to google it. But this is why this phone is a favorite of mine.

Mine is 7 yrs old now, and the original battery still stores enough juice for 24+ hrs.
Running LineageOS 14.1 (without Google Apps, though), which gets weekly updates.
This in turn means continued up-to-date security fixes based on Android 7.1.2. Yay! \o/
The hardware proved to be very sturdy and easy to maintain (e.g. internal cleanup).

i installed cm14.1 and i lost imei, imei sv and baseband vesion. Worst phone ever

I just held this phone (the international i9100) in person and oh my god it is really NICE!!! I definitely prefer the feel of this than the Galaxy S3. I (in my opinion) even think it's a better feel in the hand than the iPhone SE!

I know I might sound like someone from 2011 but no I am from 2018 and being absolutely serious about everything I just said. This phone (in terms of the feel in hand) is my absolute FAVOURITE!!!

Big Danny K, 04 May 2018The first phone I bought with my own money + my first smartphoneSame here haha, I installed a custom ROM running Lineage OS 15.1 (8.1 Oreo) and it's running pretty good. I'm impressed how it's still holding up well to this day.
