G version is the latest variant by samsung which was released in asian countries, the major market for Samsung is here in asia, so I would say thats why samsung has released 2 updates in very short span keeping in consideration the issues facing in g version. So be cool if you have G version dont be disappointed you have bought the best phone.

and more importand The AOSP roms Officialy CyanogenMod is comming in few days

rajeev, 05 Apr 2012I too am happy that they replaced 9100g with new GT9100....... moreI also bought I9100g last month as i was not aware that samsung S2 is availbale in two variants. Rajeev please guide the detail process that u adopted as i also want to replace it with i9100.

i update new 12MB file through mobile.install compelte.thn restart and only samsung logo appear on screen.thn i remove battery.And start the mobile again..still logo shw on screen and not start the OS.help me guys.im from india.i hear online update destroy the IMEI.

The new update xwlc2 has resolved most of the issues with the G version. No camera or music hang. Its just almost perfect. Would thank Samsung for atleast releasing updates for the G version. :-D

Dhanraj, 02 Apr 2012got upgraded to xwlc2 yesterday OTA without any problem... ... moreit is always better to update OTA. No issues whatsoever here.

savya baweja, 02 Mar 2012 i bought an s2 a month back and it turned out to be an i91... moreI too am happy that they replaced 9100g with new GT9100.....experience with 9100G was horrible, frequent hanging of camera... fairly large no. of automatic restart... one thing was for sure that it never heated up..haha... have you ever felt dead things heating up!! LOL

Chekd samfirmware...ics has not been released in any part of the world for G version.

Maxon, 04 Apr 2012From India, Im not getting an option for it on KiesXWLC2 was released for india users you can also check in samfirware.com where Samsung publish all the latest firmware for all phones. You can also download the firmware from there and install through kies, if not you can go to Samsung care and get the firmware upgraded.
The latter option is better, to go to Samsung care.

Killer, 29 Mar 2012My S2 I9100G screen will automatically turn on bright witho... morego to settings>dispay>brightness and turn off automatic brightness. this would solve the issue. after this you can adjust brightness by holding and dragging your finger over notification panel left and right.

GSMArena should add (planned to upgrade to Android 4.0 ICS) to the OS specification as this variant of Galaxy S II will also get the ICS update for sure. It's just that Samsung didn't yet confirm the exact release date of the update for GT-I9100G.

AnonD-5405, 30 Mar 2012I too faced the same booting screen display problem since y... moreSame problem with my SGW after the update it just got stuck in odin mode, can't connect it to Kies anymore, didn't have this problem when i update from 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 during january, sent it back to service centre last week, hopefully they got it fix by end of this week, sigh. Samsung better look into this issue.
