got upgraded to xwlc2 yesterday OTA without any problem...
i dont know y everyone is complaining that it stucks at boot logo...mine rebooted normally and started well....
phone is very smooth after upgrading...didn't experience any lag or hang issue...
m too happy with my G version...

Hey i recently got to know tht i have the g version of the s2 ..ive overclocked it using antutu cpu control.. ive run all the benchmarks and they're almost identical except for nenamark 2 for which i get 33 fps instead of 46 of the s2 .. how is this device inferior to the non g other than the custom roms ??

Hey my Samsung s2g works.absolutely fine no hangup.issues, sometimes acts wired while camera in use.... Otherwise a great phone.... I m truly happy with the phone. Recently got upgraded to XWLC2, the upgrade was very smooth...

The new galaxy s2 g series is better than the old i9100. Stable, no heats up, battery, etc.

Stupid software update after which my phone is stuck and that sucks!!... any one with a remedy please come forward... even if i get the software updated from a samsung store i eventually will lose my contacts & other things on the phone memory

I too faced the same booting screen display problem since yesterday after updating.I rebooted my phone after 10mins since full installation was complete and phone got hanged to the boot screen.Now whenever i try to switch on i only get that startup screen with samsung logo.How to solve this issue?

savithru, 30 Mar 2012Same here ... after the update, my mobile is not booting up... moreBe a little Patient It too Stucked for about 10mins on mine too.... but Finally It came back on the OS...Maybe Patching and Upgrading Takes Time i guess..

After Few Months of buying came to know that i got the G version...would like to share that me and my freind got phones from the same shop he got the non G version and i got the G version...
We were unable to notice any difference initially but with time we found that my device was at 2.4.4 out of box while his was at 2.3.3...
Moreover his phone heated like hell...Temp upto 55 degree C...whereas mine didnt had that problem.plus his battery didnt even last a day....mine can last for 1 and a half day easily...
In terms of Performance had almost the same apps and performed the same...even games...both had dead space working gud...
I know there are people who hate G version but for a user like me its perfect...i m not a very heavy user and gud battery and browsing my main requirements...
Plus i know there is less unofficial developement for our phone but i m fine with it as it would stop me from changing my ROM every week that i used to do with my previous phone...
So i just take it that way tht its an S2 with a difference but i stilll Luuuv it....S2 ROCKS any version........

Got an OTA Firmware update for my I9100G Yesterday here in INDIA..My current Baseband Version now is GDDKL1 and build number changed to XWLC2.
The update changed the lock screen made it similar to ICS, Moreover observed minor changes in icons of contacts,memo etc.
Talking about serious improvements i observed better camera performance (lesser hang issue)needs to be revieved further plus better default browser performance as mine used to crash if opening too many tabs.
Moreover the music player seems to perform better now, no cutting of the voice when phones moves into lockscreen.
Overall a pleasent update though not ICS.
