I bought the S2 G version on this new year. Just 2 days back i realized that mine is I9100G when comparing with my friend's S2(I9100).
So, could you please let me know if I can replace the set with original I9100?

This in reply to all who say samsung i9100G performance is ok...same as i9100.
Let me ask: what is the difference between i9100G and i9100.
What is the G all about?
Please compare the specifications and and tell me that performance does not depend on the hardware.

selva69, 19 Jan 2012Yeah, I do partially agree with you Veejay626, its about p... morehi, try running a benchmark through AnTuTu. U will see the difference. G version will never clock 1.2 GHz. Though Samsung specifies that processor speed of G is ditto with Non-G. U can verify it urself through many other forums. So this IS CHEATING.

This would probably help someone wanting to buy a specific SII model, 9100/9100G.
As per my OBSERVATION, here are the numbers that you would find on the box which would specify if it is a 9100 or a 9100G, without opening it.
You'll find any one of these numbers on the side of the box against the product code:
For I9100- GT-I9100LKAINU/GT-I9100LKASLK/GT-I9100LKANPL/GT-I9100RWAINU/GT-I9100LKATML
For I9100G- GT-I9100RWGINU/GT-I9100LKGTML/GT-I9100LKGSLK/GT-I9100LKGINU
Got this information from the contact us page of Samsung:
Go to Contact Us-> Email.
When it opens, select-
Product group- Mobile phone
Product type- Mobile phone
Product subtype- Bar
Scroll the model number now to find something like:
GT-I9100 (GT-I9100LKAINU)
OR
GT-I9100G (GT-I9100RWGINU)
I got a GT-I9100LKAINU from Pune & it WAS I9100 as expected. :-)

I was told by the samsung from malaysia that I9100G couldn't support for ICS 4.0!
going to change to other phone! so disappointed!
feeling like just bought a rotten egg >_

I'm one of the person who got cheated by assuming I9100. ... morei was also cheated by samsung as the box mentioned i9100
I sent a mail to samsung india to replace my set with orignal i9100

All over Asia the G version price is tad lower than the i9100. why is it being sold in India at the same price? Saying all that i am happy with Sammy India's cust service. they replaced my set within a week or so...
