AnonD-168195, 25 Jul 2013i am unable to tether my phone, it keeps saying mobile data... morethe error you are describing is that the phone is locked to a certain provider (probably AT&T, or Rogers). It need to be unlocked to be used with another provider (another wireless company in your country/area). Unlock codes can be bought on the web or directly from the provider. When you start your phone, you should see either an AT&T logo or a Rogers logo - that's the company your phone is locked to. Some people can root your phone and remove the lock - never tried so I don't know.

i am unable to tether my phone, it keeps saying mobile data is not available or invalid sim. and yet i browse with it.
any help here please?

Its a excellent mobile phone. In this price range you cant get such touch and type phone in other brand. In India usually Samsung i927R (ROGERS) is getting delivered by sellers. Sellers are saying that they delivers AT&T, on final delivery you will get ROGERS version. It is slider phone with thickness less then without slider phone. Its so slim, one cant know about its slider, till you tell them there is a slider with phone. In India you have to order its cover and screen guard from US seller through eBay. Specification telling features are excellent. Overall a very good phone with touch and type.

to upgrade to ICS, if your device is NOT rooted, download Samsung Kies, plug your device and it will tell you to do a backup first, then it will upgrade the OS. does not take long

Does anybody have experince of working with both glide and xperia pro? I have an xperia pro and happy with the performance specially keyboard is prefect however the RAM is low and plastic materail is very low quality and it's color (silver) starts to remove after one year, i want to upgrade to Glide however i am not sure if it's a right choice.

I have this phone since December and has worked perfectly, recently updated the OS to Ice Cream and works even faster and smoother, looks better to me and over all the ICS has worked perfectly. runs fast, camera and video quality is very good. I'm going to root in order to remove all AT&T's crap out of it, by the way I updated the OS using Samsung Kies

anonymous, 07 Jun 2013hey..der,gudday..my uncle give me ds fon Samsung i927 Capti... moreThere are several ways to unlock;you can get the network control key from the original seller/vendor or you could pay a little fee to phone unlocking websites.It's also possible to unlock through rooting,if you're technically saavy that won't be a problem.
@Manel,ICS has been pretty stable and responsive on my Glide so far,don't see any advantage in sticking to Gingerbread IMO.If anything,ICS adds some nice features and apps missing in Gingerbread.

How is the ics ( the official realeased by AT&T ) running on the Captivate glide? Is the gigerbread a better option?
