I am using this instrument for the passt 6 months.
Recently it is developed a problem that it gets switched off while using net. Even if you switchon it will not get connected. Again power needs to be connected to switch on eventhough the battery shows full. How to get rid of this problem.

I've had mine for 5 months and the hardware is great. Mine seems pretty waterproof, I've used mine in the bath and shower etc.
...but an active phone for active people needs ANT+ and this phone doesn't have it. It's capable of it with Android 4.3 but Samsung seem not to have any intention of upgrading the phone which is now 2 releases out of date.
My advise would be to get an S4 and a waterproof case. Shame it was a great idea, but now it's just annoying me.

I now know what I was missing. The keys below the screen make it look and use perfect. I would definitely recomend anyone to purchase it.

I want to buy one smartphone for following reasons;
- To view my audio/video lectures
- To save neccesary e-books (basically e-reading)
- Web browsing (blogging, social networking, etc)
- To use few neccesary apps.
- To listen some music
- Call, texting etc
- No gaming
I need longest battery and large screen and better camera also. Please suggest me which one to go with. S4 active or mega 6.3?

There is good news for AT&T's version of the Samsung's waterproof Galaxy S4 Active that now you can update your device to android 4.3

S4 Active ... moreit's a S4 with a real button instead of touch ones and it's water resistant up to 30 min in 1 meter and can shot under water photo and video the down side is it's screen is TFT compared to the original S4 which is SUPER OMLED and the camera is 8 mega while S4 is 13 ,, other than that it's basically the same phone

Regarding the GPS, when the writer said "The barometer, however, can speed up GPS locks even without a data connection." Does he/she mean that we need to install a third party application for it (the built-in barometer) to work? TIA fellas...

Poor thing that water damages are not covered by the warranty. Change this Sammy, please!
I want to have Ant+ to connect my Garmin Virb Elite Camera with this phone.
Does someone know if this phone (or the newer version: Galaxy S4 Active LTE-A) also gets the ANT+ standard?
And how this depends on a future Android 4.3 update?

Is it only a software theme or does the phone also need a special chipset for ANT+?

And last: Does someone know why the standard S4 uses Gorilla Glass 3 but the S4 Actives use "only" Gorilla Glass 2?
The more resistant glass is the Gorilla Glass 3, isn´t it?
Or is it only a literal error in the GSM Phone specifications here?

whenever I use the front-facing camera (even if it's set to 2MP), my photo looks grainy or pixelated. And when I record a vide on with my FFC, the screen (and the whole clip) dims like it goes dark but the video quality is still HD. any thoughts, anyone?

best smartphone I haver had. before I used Samsung S+,I phone,htc, Motorola atrix 4g and tested many more.
this S4 Active is looks great, screen is awsome,call quality is clear enough.
I have one suggestion for all smartphone users: please use the GSM mode network when u are not using facebook or internet and do this before put it into your pocket. this technique will extend your battery life.

I'll upgrade to 4.3...first off, this device may never see 4.4...2nd, I have 4.4.2 on Google's own Nexus 7 device...SO buggy it's unbelievable. Bluetooth stops randomly...people have WiFi problems. 4.3 is stable and solid as far as see..... Looking for my upgrade now...if it's really out there.

haha. saw this device broke in an episode of Convergence here in the Philippines. water got trapped inside the screen resulting to distorted images on screen

Hi guys,,, just got notification to update firmware. Im currently on 4.2.2.
I dont wat to update yet if its only 4.3.
has anyone else got their update.
