It would be the best if it had...
1. 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen (because 4.7 is too big)
2. 1.5 or 2GB RAM (1.5 is just enough)
3. 12MP camera (nobody needs more)
4. 3MP front camera (but 2MP ain't bad either)
4. 1.5GHz quad-core processor
5. 8mm thickness (nobody needs thinner)
6. A battery as big as a removable battery can be (about 2200mAh should be fine)
7. A smaller version (something like Samsung Galaxy S III mini, 4 inch with same specs, because not everyone likes a big screen and with a non-removable battery to keep a good battery life)

No other... moreYeah me too.The 7.7 comes with SAMOLED but is too small for a tab.The larger ones have traditional LCD displays which is now a deal breaker for me.
Just have too keep my money until Samsung release a 10"with SAMOLED+ HD.

Hey sgs3 fans im going to post my need about the specs :
Procesor
it wont ever be exynos based on arm.cortex a9 . No its going to bre exynos 5250 or 5450 ( the best processor in the world ) ..
Display
i really hope it will be full hd super amoled ( 1920 x 1080 ) and like 450 ppi or a 720p display super amoled plus tech ..:D
memory :
1.5 gb ram or 2 gb ram and 3 storage option with expandable memory slot..
Camera
It will be 12mp or 8 but with much much bigger sensor and can shoot 60fps videos at 1080p and 120 fps at 720p
Android 4.0 ( aka ice cream sandwish ) with touchwiz 5
Build design iit will have ceramic back design and 7~8 thick
Now to the battery
Samsung promised a batter battery result ib 2012 so now to the lateat rumors it support wireless charging and the processor was based on 45mn on sgs2 now its 32mn that mean low battery consumption and if you did the right maths quad core use more battery than dual one so sgs3 will have ezynos 5250 with much much battery improvement it will survive a full day with juice on heavy usage

Folk voting this down already it is not even released yet..No-one knows the spec or shape or anything about SGS3 except Samsung.

No other display can match the contrast and saturation of Amoled Plus.

Radu, 11 Apr 2012look at the lg optimus 4x,ips is superior to the amoled,and... morebullshit. tegra 3 even though a quad core is seriosuly poor in performance.. i mean i could see lags in the asus transformer prime! lol.. and it definitely isnt better in battery performance.. check out gsmarenas battery tests and u will see that the exynos chip is right up there in the top.. it all boils down to better engineering i guess :) peace

The interest for this smartfone is off the scale round our area..Those stuck on 24 month contracts with sgs2 are so impressed with it they want to cancel contract early for sgs3..These people are not geeks like me most are just normobs who had T-mobile pulse mini or HTC hero and then when they have gone to upgrade thay have been sold sgs2..I mean come on the sgs2 is big even for me but it has not bothered them..I have said to them that its not going to make much difference having quad-cores and its only geeks who would upgrade early just because we are mobile addicts.We are mobile addicts to come on GSMArena..I do try to help my best but if its their money and they want to cancel early i cant stop them obviously..
I would love to here if the anticipation for sgs3 is as big as here in UK(where i am) or whether its been met with a so so attitude ...What i cant get my head round is why the normal folk on the street all of a sudden have adapted to a HUGE full touchscreen device..I know sgs2 was just that bit too big so hopefully Sammy will reduce the bezel and it is a 4 inch screen..

They are coming late, so we expect so much more in this phone. Personally One X was a joke. Poor batteries and other flaws perfectly prove that why shouldn't we move to quad core era. However, I really hope S3 proves me wrong since It is equipped with a different cpu.

S3 has upgraded from S2 by far for example the HD resolution which is 2x better than s2 400x800 vs the s3 1280x720 pixels. the prccesor has improved by heaps it now has a QUAD core and s2 had a dual core 1.2 to QUAD 1.5 ghz, the 12mp camera I think they are gonna put in which is also a huge improve ment with a bigger battery but it would affect the high resolution. The bigger screen with may be useful. Also the super amoled hd plus display which is also good. The Bluetooth has also improved to 4.0. The one of the best parts are it's gonna be realesed with android ice cream sandwhich. Finally the best part it will come with 4g lte connection. Bad points are small battery and specs are just as good as the galaxy s2 hd lte. What I think they should add is 3d capibilities and shrink the screen a bit.
