Does Galaxy S3 gonna have OTA update of 4.2.2 and 4.3? or does it stops from 4.1.2? Please help me im new to this phone.

My Galaxy S3 has after a factory reset a new IMEI no. I cannot call a number nor can I receive a call.

This is NOT a common problem as some people would have you believe; in fact it is comparatively rare for it to happen. Luckily, the S3 is very user friendly and is recoverable.
First of all put your phone into 'Recovery' mode. You do that by turning your phone OFF and waiting about 15 seconds until it completely cleared. Then switch your phone ON by holding down the Volume Up and Home button together and THEN press the Power button until the Samsung logo appears. That is called a 'three button reset'. Release all three buttons and you will see the Android robot and the phone will boot into Recovery mode. Using the Volume Up/Down button, select 'Wipe cache partition' and press the Power button. When it returns to the recovery screen, select 'reboot system now'.
If that doesn't clear the problem, turn the phone OFF again and go back into Recovery mode, and this time select 'wipe data/factory reset', and then 'reboot system now' again.
WARNING... This will return your phone to a 'as new' condition. All of your data, app, contacts, text messages etc. will be wiped clean because the phone will be in the condition you received it. If you have the phone backed up to Google then it won't be a problem because everything will be restored.

cox, 20 Aug 2013which one is better between tha xperia z or s3?And dont be fooled by the sonys apparantly shatter proof display mentioned in the specs. Look on you tube re. sony shatter proof.....xperia t and z for example then you will see such like "removing xperia t shatter proof" protection is common. People seem to want the plastic off.....personally i wouldnt do that...since they also need to remove the glue and buy a special oil to keep the screen free of fingerprints as the glass wasnt supposed to be used as the main display. Its basically just they glue on a screen protector to glass that is slightly thicker than the general screen protectors.. So if the phones glass broke then in theory it will hold the glass together and stop glass shattering everywhere. Generally a bad fall will cause cracks in the glass. If part of the display is badly damaged the screen wouldnt work anyway irrespective of an apparanlty shatter proof display. Anyway i dont think its as bad as it sounds...as i didnt even notice my xperia mini pro had a screen protector firmly glued on....till maybe a year after using it.

Its definitely a clincher if you live in a hot sunny country and use your phone outside a lot. My partners and my sony (not z's) are so poor in the sun that calls are a hassle....amongst other stuff as the lcd screens are not always bright enough.
. As for the amoled screens....ive had to download screen filter as the lowest setting of brightness is still to bright when online in the late evenings. Not to mention the amoled screens are better anyway at being readable in the sun.....and brighter.

It may be possible for you to fix it yourself by Flashing with new firmware.
But if the phone is still in Warranty, then don’t hesitate; take it back to be replaced or fixed.

If you are thinking of getting this phone… DON’T! Well, unless you are getting it for next to nothing.
Phone has a lot of problems. Mainly boot up issues that are difficult to resolve.
Don’t say you were not warned!

pls let me know ???Undoubtedly S3...Grand is comparatively slower than S3, and playing games on Grand is more of a hassle..
In fact S3's The screen clarity and the overall feel is much better. Also from what I've learnt, Grand will just be getting an Android 4.2.2 upgrade, whereas S3 will even get the 5.0 Lime Pie...
So don't get hassled...and if you still want to decide, then choose between Nexus 4 and S3! ;-)
