Smooth game play is important for you but maximum multitasking is important to me.
That’s where the freedom of manual tweaking comes in.
Tweak your RAM management in settings>Developer options
Scroll to the Apps section.
Set your background processes limit
And if you want to be drastic (do not keep activities)
But your problem seems to be more a lack of ROM space not RAM space.
On a next note: you those of you that find touch screen keyboards difficult to us of you have big fingers. The show touches feature is very helpful.
It’s in the input section of Developer options.

Anthony, 07 May 2013Ok But the 1.6gb I mentioned is 10% of the 16gb. That's t... morewell it's all good, clearing ram as well. I cant understand why android doesnt allow better ram control since it is so crucial in hd games so to have everything possible working in the phones favour.

when I want to see nature in all its true natural colours, I don’t look out side. I look at cell phone screen because nothing is more natural in colour than electronic colour pixels.

Yeah, noticed that myself. It's comical really, the poor ol' phone doesn't know what to make of this battery.
I use 'Battery' app by Macropinch on my S3, and after charging the battery it's funny to see (the widget) state 18d left!
p.s. I'm still on my second charge - 10d 5h 13m 24s - with 18% left.
