I have a friend use this device for 6 months, no root, using with care, upgraded to Jelly Bean, but faced sudden death, still in warranty. Samsung Center said should be replaced for motherboard cost it around US$160.

Friends, I got my S3 last Feb. It is version 4.0.4 Android. Sometimes when I am connected to the internet, it is asking for an update but I always cancel it because I do not know what version the phone is updating to. Can someone clarify this for me please? Shall I go ahead with the update? Will there be any benefit? Or will it slow down my S3? Thanks a lot

Nikidroid, 06 May 2013Are your device 16 GB memory version?Is it come with preins... morei have 16gb...was ics now jb. As far as i know not on 32 or 64. Samsung admitted it was a problem and replaced handsets, motherboards also i think. They solved sudden death. So i bought a 16gb.

Whats the difference between this one and a regular galaxy s3? I ordered a case for mine but it was too wide for it, it looked almost like it was for a note? im going crazy trying to find a case for my phone just bc idk which one is right

it wouldn't turn on till I used this thingy ma jigy call a charge.
I don't know how it did it but after some time I could turn my phone on again. It was no longer dead.
After that I did all the updates for the phone and kept using the charger thigy ma jigy every night and it never happened again.

I read at XDA developer, this issue is applied to 16 GB internal version. If we purchase 32 GB or 64 GB version, we won't face the issue?

Did you mean your device can wake up again after sudden death without got repaired on Samsung Center? What did you do on your device at that time

just this week.
I just got a new extended battery and after using it for 33 or so hours it just suddenly died.
It was horrible the phone wouldn't turn back on. Sudden death I tell you.
Then a friend told me about this cool device that you connect to a wall power outlet and the bottom of the phone at the same time. And after using that for a short time it fixed the problem and I could start my 3III again. It was absolutely amazing.
