hi guys. I'm thinking of getting this phone, but i will likely be using it to play multiplayer games online, and also on a tv. So it will have the game running, wifi active, and also the charger plugged in for the mhl/hdmi . From what i've read, i expect if i did all this the phone will go dead. Others get heat from just 2 out of the 3 power drainers above in use. Does anyone do this for like 2 hours of online gaming on a tv and still have a phone working? and is there another mhl hdtv adapter/cable that does not require the phone to have the charger plugged in. IOW the phone just connects with hdmi/mhl...and no charging/power source.

I've just bought this phone today. So far it's a very responsive device, worlds better than my previous phone (Motorola Razr Maxx). And it looks great in black.

The name is misleading, it's actually a dual quad core not an octa core. It's base on the big.Little technology from arm. 1 quad core A15 for heavy tash and 1 quad core A9 for battery efficiency. In theory you should get the best stamina on the current smartphone. The link that you showed me is for the i9505, because when I check the spec sheet on your link. The processor is clock at 1.9GHZ That's the I9505. Exynos 5 on the i9500 is the quad A15 cloak at 1.6 and is more powerful than the SD600 on I9505. The best part of exynos 5 is that it's come with power vr 544mp3 gpu. It's the best gpu that you can find on a smartphone.

and its spare part is way expensive

But didn't the i9500 get called octa-core because it had 2x4core CPU
where the i9505 only has 1x4core CPU.
I don't think any has a 1x8core CPU but you can point me in the right direction if I'm wrong.

My S3 work like it was yesterday a bought it and am on jelly bean. I don't know what you did with yours but you should look at the mirror before blaming Samsung for your incompetence.

Great phone to begin with and then goes downhill
When I brought the phone it was an excellent piece of hardware. I will just jump to 6 month ownership experience:
1. The JB update screwed the phone. S3 became sluggish and almost unusable, service center did a software reset wiping out all the data. The phone became better but not as good as it was earlier.
2. Two months after the update, the battery started taking very long to charge. Things came to a pass when phone went dead while getting charged !!
3. 40 minute wait at service station and the rep told me to buy a new cable.
4. No joy - another 30 minute wait and they reset the phone again. The battery issue is still persistent.
Have absolutely no patience to go to service center again, I dusted of my old iPhone 4 and 3 year old iPhone still works better then the 6-month old S3. And to think of it I hated Apple !!!!

Friends pls help me out....everytime when I try to connect to net, it says couldn't be connected even keeping the mobile data in on mode....after restarting it only I can able to get connected. ..pls provide me any Soln friends. ....

He liked my phone so much better he sold his HTC and bought the S3. I was happier aswell because we could check out the S-Beam feature, it aswell (like everything about the phone) was awesome!
I would buy the Samsung.
