I just updated mine to 4.1.2 Jellybean today and it works really amazing with no lag or delayit works really smoother and faster.

Just updated to 4.1.2 though OTA and the download size is 151.97 MB. Phone works smoothly after the update and no issues. Great features like able to access recent apps by swiping to left of screen and run two windows simultaneously. Now this phone has true multitasking. Seems that the previous annoying lag while opening stock dialer and contacts is sorted out now.

After upgrade 4.1.2, wifi can't connect automatically, have to on/off, and sometime phone auto restart, whose know this?

I have seen in couple of forums users complain about s3 freezing 30 times per day after update to 4.1.2 . Is this an issue in Indian 4.1.2 firmware also?

Can anyone confirm if the lag in opening contacts, dialer, sms is fixed with 4.1.2 update in India? The update from 4.0 to 4.1.1 was pathetic. Performance was down. I hope all those bugs in 4.1.1 are fixed.

I have been using the S III I9300 for about 3 months now. The phone is amazing. The qualms I have are only two:
- The battery drains quickly. To illustrate, I am currently going on vacation in Spain. The many historical sites and such make me constantly grab the phone to take photos and read maps, reviews and miscellaneous info through the GPS and mobile internet functions. I take various measures to reduce battery usage (I turn off GPS and mobile internet, which are huge battery drains, whenever I'm not using them), set the screen on minimal brightness whenever possible and activate energy-saver mode (which downclocks the CPUs from 1.5 GHz to 1.0 (Samsung claims it does not affect everyday usage, only resource-intensive games and apps) and limits the screen framerate (barely noticeable decrease in smoothness)). Still, by the end of the day the battery is down to 20-40%.
I remember I test once where I left it on battery overnight on airplane mode, which blocks all signals beside GPS (which was disabled anyway). When I woke up the charge was at 90%, which seems to mean that just the phone being idle for 10 hours consumed a tenth of the battery. Pathetic compared to my iPod Touch 4G, which I can leave on standby for a week and it will not have lost even half of the charge. I am using Android 4.1.1 by the way.
The second qualm I have is that the glass, even though it's supposedly Gorilla Glass 2, broke on the first fall to the ground (I had not yet put a cover on the phone, sadly), and because Samsung does not sell the glass separately, only glued to a new AMOLED screen (which fortunately is unaffected), repairing it is very expensive (200 euros, and an equivalent price in Brazil as well), even through more "black market" means.
So, while the phone may be amazing, put a protective cover on it right away and expect to charge it every day, or every two days.

Finally, 4.1.2 in India after more than a month.
Samsung India really sucks at giving updates. Same thing happened last year with the Galaxy S2 as well.

JB 4.1.2 is very smooth. I have used it for an hour now and i see noticeable improvement in operation.
