usmann, 16 Nov 2012I m using my s3 lightly. There are no apps runing in backg... moream sry but is ur problem is the battery drainage? if so, turn off google now and u'll see the difference :) i had this issue too until i figuered it out

I recommend you do step 14. Regardless if the phone boots correctly or not.
If you had a provider Branded ROM like I did (Phone starts with your provider logo and the Samsung logo) the method to get that ROM is to do a firmware initialisation using kies.
It easy.
I did it twice already, checking to see if my provider got the 4.1.1 update.
But I have given up on that now and just went with the unlocked ROM 4.0.4 for my region (got it on sammobile) and after doing step 14 it auto got the OTA for 4.1.1 for the ROM I had on.
Any way back to what I was saying.
With out your phone being connected to the PC open kies and go to tools>Firmware upgrade and initialzation. follow the onscreen instructions. (Case sensitive.)
This will restore the original ROM for your S/N
Note: After doing this if kies says you can’t check for updates for your phone. Following step 14 of the article freefaller gave and just to be sure do a hard reset after. that will fix the problem.
(I know this because it happened to me.)
BTW. If any one here has a digicel SIII I would like to know when it gets the 4.1.1 update so I will restore me phone once again.

Portugal: UNbranded SGS3 bought in October - Still no Jelly Bean update...
And we still read 4.2 will come for Christmas!!!
Maybe Xmas 2003, as far as Portugal is concerned...
Shame on you, samsung...
Don't be surprised for getting such a bad reputation in these countries that you seem to have forgotten!
