Having read dozen of opinions, I want to share my little idea over 4s and Siii as I used to be Arc S, S2 user then switch to 4S user since a few months ago. Here's my discussion:
1. Design of 4S is nicer even though it's heavier than S3, as S3 use all plastic body. And you need to be careful it can break. I experience with my S2 that its back cover scratch and break while I remove plastic protection to sell it.
2. In term of both based stock firmware, 4S need "Jailbreak" to bring out potential the most of it. Example Phone contact doesn't show preview of contact pic until we install app (called tweaks in Cydia) to make it works. Action menu tweaks (for copy, paste.....text) need also have after jb. Moving cursor around text need also install tweaks as well. But these things are available in android with just a few touch. But the quality of 4S tweaks are really great, that make 4S even a great phone. One of the tweaks that I like is that, in-app purchase..it allows to buy things in esp. game items for free.
3. In term of third party software, 4S still wins. Let's say apple wins. I don't know how google encourage their 3rd party developers to make app for android in which ways..quality is acceptable but still bad if you ever investigate and use that same application on 4S. 3rd party software for iphone is very very good-design & usage.
4. Specification of S3 is really great in paper. But I (think) even though Quad vs Dual core is 2x different, it still not too different in phone. I hate iPhone 4S, every time I reach the line that everyone wrote 3.5" vs 4.8". So upset that Apple doesn't make it at least 4.x" in their 4S generation. But one thing that I can confirm is that it will get "hot" if using continuously in two or three hours. 4S does not. I play mc3, amazing spiderman or order n chaos, the 4S just feel warm in my palm. Memory, even S3 has 1gb but memory hog problem...was heard everywhere. Hope it be fixed in another firmware of s3. But for the "hot" problem, when I use s2 it's still there..Almost every week I tried with different firmware, going for ICS and downgrade to GB...it's still fast to get hot. So I thought it's the hardware quality.
In conclusion, it's a matter of taste in recent world whereas people want to try different taste. And no matter what, it will accomplish the same way. If you have a lot of $, you can switch back forth back forth..and search for what adore you.:)

well a few weeks ago I was in the dilemma of weather I should buy the samsung s3 or wait for the iphone 5 so i decided to go with the s3 in white and boy am i impressed!! it is the best phone I have ever had! it dosent have limited features like the iphones for e.g. the camera on the iphone 4s has only 2 options HDR and Grid where as rhe s3 has over 30+ options.. i went for the marble white because the blue one looks dull and im glad i did, the s3 is a beautiful and sleek looking phone and is by far the winner of the current smarphone market even when the iphone 5 is out i still think the s3 will dominate the market because face it iphones are just boring and simple to use so buy the s3 you will not regret it

Impressive Phone, processor speed very good apps run very good. Camera is Excellent, phone usage wise is best of the best. Can buy with close eyes.

You buy it if you want a big screen and there really is no better phone for Width/Thickness to screen size ratio, I mean just look at the iPhone with it's tiny screen lost in a sea of glass, plastic and metal.

Hi!
I am using this phone since last two weeks now and i must say its feels great to have one. I am having a small problem with this phone ..the battery goes off very soon and second one will sound silly, but the service light that use to display at the top of my handset is not blinking at all now. I dont know what is wrong with it. It does goes red when plugged in for charging, but has stopped blinking in blue when removed from charging.
Please if u can let me know what should be done?

The battery is excellent,the device gets little problematic its a minor one,the major problem is that we cannot move apps to sd card unless we root it.

I have had this phone for a few weeks and its great I also have the HTC One X phone which is also great, but the Samsung has that little bit extra. The HTC is a brilliant phone but just feel a little let down in the battery department. The samsung team were clever keeping the idea of still being able to remove the back panel and change batteries.
