AnonD-34847, 29 Jun 20122 GB is allocated for apps which is the phone memory, 12 GB... moreOn S3 you have 11.35 Gb of memory to install apps, no 2 Gb as it is on S2, and Gameloft... gamedata... is also installed on the same 11.35 Gb memory, used as a "sd-card" by apps and games...!
If S3 is rooted you can use "gl to sd" to move gamedata... to the external sd-card, but only if that external sd-card is fat32, NOT exFAT!

Open the Messaging app and press the (left soft) menu button. Select Settings and scroll right down to the bottom of the menu that appears. Under 'Notification settings' make sure that the option 'Notifications' box is ticked and that the ringtone is NOT on silent.

Also, on your Homescreen, press the menu button, then Settings/Sound/Volume and make sure that the Notifications slider is on maximum.

vivek, 29 Jun 2012i am having a problem with the smart stay feature in galaxy... moreFor smart stay to work properly you need to make sure that your face is clearly visible. You should be in a well lit area and there should be no bright light behind you otherwise your face will not be visible clearly. The phone also needs to be in front of you and not at high angles to the left or right of you.

The Direct call feature works perfectly for me, so you may wanna check that at the service centre.

I'm a bit disappointed in the S3(specially considering it's super high cost). It lags quite a bit which I definitely did not expect from a quad core powered phone. The ripple effect in the lock screen lags most of the time while unlocking(How could you not see it Samsung?). If you pinch zoom in the apps or widgets pages there is a slight lag sometimes. There wasn't the slightest lag in my S2(though it was a dual core). The lag that was there in Messages in the S2 is still there in the S3 too. Even scrolling through Watsapp messages lags like hell on the S3 and it was way smoother on the S2. Ram usage is always above 500mb out of the available 780mb even with no apps running. I checked my friend's S3 too and saw all the above issues in that too which confirms that my phone has no defect. I kind of felt like I went for a downgrade(performance wise) rather than an upgrade. :-(

htc one x or lg 4x better than tis one. bcoz both phns gud out look and 1.5ghz nvdia processr so geforce better graphic suport.littile 4x is better 2150 removable batry,30fps video, xpandable memory, normal sim slot. so go for lg. another great feature we can zoom video. nt like mx plyer.

You should all note the recent court case in Australia referring to how they used the total recording of personal usage with an iPhone to arrest a suspect. Even when you charge your mobile. Worse is Android where your every action is recorded and marketed to all by Google. This is serious where your personal behavior is sold to marketing agents and who ever. Me - I will continue to use a BB and hopefully if is more secure than any other mobile. For these great Samsung products, and they are good, everyone should be totally aware you are selling your soul when you buy and no one pays you a cent for it.

AnonD-46574, 29 Jun 20123 days with S3 White Design wise: not the best, HTC desi... moreIf you wanted to have battery last long, stay out of free APPs from Android! Those free APPs are not so free at all!, It's full of ads and you don't even get the full use of them! It's a scam from google, don't you think?

Which phone will you buy? The Galaxy SIII or The HTC One X?

On one hand you have with the SIII:
                      1. Bigger screen - 4.8" over 4.7"
                      2. Higher display contrast and better sunlight legibility
                      3. More storage options - 16/32/64GB + microSD over non-expandable 32GB
                      4. S Voice natural language commands and dictation
                      5. S Beam for easy and fast file transfers
                      6. User-accessible 2100mAh battery over non-removable 1800mAh battery

                      With the HTC One X
                      1. Impressive polycarbonate unibody
                      2. Brighter IPS LCD2 screen with a full set of subpixels
                      3. Beats Audio

You wont be wrong in thinking that the Galaxy SIII has a slight edge over the HTC One X? But which phone will you eventually purchase?

It's an easy one? - The HTC One x (Hands down)
Even though the features on this phone are second best. yet the feeling of this phone in your hand is out of this world.
The Build quality is very high.
This is a stunningly beautiful phone- Even though it's got a 4.7" screen. the phone doesn't feel out of place in your hand (unlike the Galaxy SIII) - HTC has done a marevlous job?

You would wonder why HTC wouldn't go for the 12Mega Pixel (Available on HTC HD) or the 2100mAH battery - The answer is simple, HTC didn't want the phone to look bulky. This is an A-listers phone - One you could carry in your hand and not look foolish?

                      Which one would you buy?

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2012Which one will you buy? The SIII or The HTC One X HTC... moreSo... HTC One X is better because it looks nicer?
                        Seriously? That's all you got?

The screens are the same resolution and color bit depth, so they are equal. So that one is personal opinion at best.

From the looks of the specs, appearance is about the only main difference. Which as a result is purely subjective.

So, until you have a pile of bench marks and comparison tests, save the XXX is better than it because it's prettier.

RBA, i am agree with u. The smartphone should have a built in FM radio antenna at least, so it should makes any hardcore music fans delighted everyday. I bet if one developer starting to made it, the others will follow.. :)

AnonD-60955, 29 Jun 2012so you mean to say that we can install 12GB of apps? some ... more2 GB is allocated for apps which is the phone memory, 12 GB is allocated for the apps' and games' data which is called the mass memory. I have been using android for a long time now and i don't wanna boast it that i own a S3, Note as well as a S2 unlike someone has done here saying that he owns a S3. Believe me that some apps will be installed on the 2 GB phone memory which u can't move to the SD card like Juice defender, Google maps, Youtube, Facebook and widgets just to name a few. The 12 GB is allocated for the game data or apps data. Game data of games from Gameloft, Rockstar, EA and so on will get installed on the 12 GB mass memory. Hope u find this helpful......

The SIII or The HTC One X HTC... moreI think you are one of the most unsensible users cause you can't see or you don't wanna see that one x has lots of problems like wifi problem, and video recording problem, photoes full of noise, terrible battery life and the worst one is that the baterry isn't removable! my dear a smart phone isn't just a good appearance ! although I prefer sIII UI.

HTC One X - No brianer!

                                      The reason being:
The looks - SIII is NOT a looker by any sense of imagination.
The HTC Sense (The Samsung Icons and themes are ugly)
The Screen - Better than S3
HTC One X feels so much better in the hand than the SIII

HTC One X - Just the best phone for any sensible user.
