Certain devices may be water-proof, but the majority of people don't submerge their devices under water. Other than that, the GS3 destroys all competition. The Sony Xperia acro S isn't great at all. With a dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion CPU, Adreno 220 GPU, and 1GB of RAM, it's lagging behind. Some people will try to make a case for its 12MP camera, but it won't look any better than 8MP offerings of current devices. It's not like we're dealing with a Sony DSC-RX100.
If anyone is in the market for a new Android smartphone right now, it would be foolish to look at anything other than the GS3.

Yeah before you come in with your crap I know said you had s2 or whatever. Have you ever tried the $150 virgin mobile LG Optimistic or the LG Ally which can be picked up under $100? Both with ARM V6 600mhz processors, 128MB of ram, and horribly limited rom. They still run good. Please don't come in here all but hurt with jealously

in my opinion windows phone is overcharging its users for selling low end hardware at huge price!!!

all are phones with same amount of ram ( 512mb or even less than that with only 256mb ) same as windows phone,
all these have processors = 1 ghz, lower than the standard 1.4 ghz on windows ( some even run on arm v6 against v7 on windows )
and they still run perfect on android.
and still android cant run on outdated hardware you say!!
we use dual cores because kid, its 2012 and its time that smartphones become even smarter
if i were to follow you and choose a single core processor over quad saying my single core runs perfectly, i would have taken atom processor for pc against core-i7.
but you know the difference among those two
even atom runs windows ( desktop version )smoothly, then you would think that all companies including intel and amd are fools making dual, quad or even octa core procesors...
you see, what is happening with pc world is not different than smartphone world
you can buy basic hardware and get a os running perfectly on it but never get heavy apps running on it
tell me if your windows 7 runs so smooth, why there are no games like max payne, gta3 over there
your os may run smooth even when multitasking but i think there is a limit for that too 5or8 something against android on which you can run as many apps as you want ( watch any review of s3 where the show multitasking button and multitasking feature and you can see more than 12 apps running but phone still running perfect.
i dont say windows os is not good. in my opinion - its a great os but i dont see it as value for money
its the same as buying a 11 inch atom powered netbook at the price of 15.6 inch i7 powered notebook with a powerfull graphic card on which i can atleast play games like cod series, batman, assasin creed.
its only android and ios who are getting all the heavy games even ported from ps1 and some directly from pc along with many apps. windows is always last of the bunch you see and that too if it is going to get it!!

I got my White SGS3 today :D
For some reason, i quite like the White color against the blue one...
But what a phone... I mean i used the HTC 1X and got rid of it in 5 days, i am not getting rid of this beauty for quite a long time :)
But the initial charging is aweful, takes tooooo long!!! I love the screen shot option, and the NFC is just beautiful tech, but S voice needs some software boost!

I have been using the phone for 4 complete days now.... and well i use it to replace my laptop... so everything from facebook, whatsapp, medscape, nova3, web browser everything is running almost simultaneously.
Somethings that came out extremely well:
The Web Browser.... it is extremely fast as compared to the galaxy s, s2, iphone 4. Way faster. just mindblowing.
The screen is very clear, i have been checking out the pics of several pathological specimens and they seem amazing to watch.
Games run amazing, i am using only HD games n they run so smooth, you forget that this is a cellphone, i mean seriously, it rivals a psp.
Muisc plays awesome, better than the 3 phones mentioned before(although 4s is about just as good).
Things which are not so good are....
The camera, seriously its just okay, nothing fancy or awesome(i am used to nikon p500 maybe thats why)
Design, a bit bulky & difficult to handle, i keep fearing its gonna slip out of my hand or pocket.
The gallery sucks a bit, if u r viewing a large no of images it lags a lot. So i guess some imageviewer will be a must.
But overall its an amazing phone. if u have used the galaxy s or s2 it probably wont blow u away, but come as a pleasant surprise. but for all other ppl its going to change the way u look at ur phone.

WHat Battery are you using..It lasts more than 3 days even with excessive use..Best Battery in cell phone history ever !!
