just replace the battery with a new one and it will work flawlessly, as it happened to me, and remove the battery as soon as possible, because it may be inflated and leak and damage your phone.

I just played around with an iPhone 7 (sept. 2016 release) and I can't believe how much superior this S4 (apr. 2013!!!!) is in every conceivable way; battery, screen, camera, etc etc

terrible phone, i can barely run any good apps and games. The battery is pathetically weak, slow loading of apps and to top it off always heating up. Worst of the Galaxy "S" series

Phone is quickly getting weak due to higher specs demand on this year. Not getting good in some games. Consistent drops on FPS in 3D action games. 2GB is getting useless in 2020, might be completely useless in 2040. Not a good phone to buy in 2020 📱

its been a fantastic phone. its never let me down. i work in heavy industry and its been in my pocket for 6 years through heat ,vibration, sweat and heavy knocks. BUT..... its internal memory is now really struggling. i'm constantly cleaning cache and deleting history to keep the last few scraps of available memory clear. I feel like i'm losing an old friend. I can truly say its been the best single product i have ever bought. My little mate might not last much longer but i can truly say its been a rock of a phone. I'll still put it in my pocket tomorrow on the way to work. I haven't given up on it quite yet.

I was having weird problems with my S4 recently - it accumulated a bunch of photos in its cache and it kept re-writing them to the SD card. Tried many things to fix this and nothing worked. So just a few weeks ago I removed the SD card, re-imaged the S4 using original factory settings, and got a new SD card (64 GB, the max it can take). What a difference re-imaging made. I have enough device storage available to keep it going now, plus the 64 GB on the card.

My advice - since it's a solid phone, save all of your data and re-image the thing. You'll free up enough resources to keep it going for awhile. If nothing else, it will serve as a pretty decent backup device. Definitely don't abandon it! :)

My S4 days are nearly up! 16g storage with a SD card is simply not enough now with updates received. Apps which I can are stored on my SD card. I have uninstalled a few apps to make room for the ones I use daily like Instagram / Whatsapp / Chrome & a few others. I have always disables most of my apps that are pre-installed which i never use. Now one really does need 64g upwards. You may still get away with 32g. My phone works like a charm still......

I have a white one, it's a nice old phone

this phone has only one problem and that is the durability of the battery, you have to replace it with a new one in a year or two.
